Sterling Vacations charged my Visa card on 07/24/2017 for $1,098.00 for Cuba Cruse FAM and $102.00 was charged for insurance with Travel Insured International. My sister died on August 19, 2017. I called and cancelled the cruise with Sterling Vacations and Travel Insured International on 08/08/2017 (***). Travel Insured sent me the claim forms and asking for supporting documentation. Sterling Vacations is the only one that could provide the documents. After numerous requests for the documents, I still have not received them. I contacted Celestyal Crystal Cruise Line and they had no record of me being booked on their August 18, 2017.Cuba sailing. Sterling Vacations will not refund my $1098.00 nor will the send me the documents to submit to the insurance company.

Sterling Vacations Response

On July 24, 2017, client, ***, booked a non-refundable cruise to Cuba with us for travel August 18-25, 2017 (see attached copy of her invoice and Cancellation policy clearly stated on that invoice). On July 26th, we sent an insurance quote to the client per her request for a policy, which she took out. She then called on August 9 and cancelled for a family medical reason, which would be covered by the insurance company.

Irby then proceeded to make a claim both with the insurance company and by disputing her credit card payment to us in the amount of $1,098.00, the full payment for her one-week cruise paid to us through our credit card processor, PayPal.

I personally spoke to the insurance company to advise them that the cruise was not booked with Celestyal Cruises but with Sterling Vacations, as the wholesale seller of Cylestyal cruises and provided her with a copy of our flyer, indicating it was non-refundable, a copy of the invoice indicating it was not refundable. That was the necessary documentation she needed to submit to the insurance company for payment. We never heard from anyone at the insurance company which is the usual procedure when we are the provider of the product.

On August 18, 2017 at 3:10 PM, we spoke to a woman, ***, at the claims department for insurance company, Travel Insured International, and informed them that we were the provider and wholesaler and we sent her a copy of the our flyer (attached) and our invoice (attached) indicating this was a non-refundable trip booked with Sterling Vacations. What has transpired between the traveler and her insurance policy - we have no idea.

I am rejecting this response because: Sterling Vacations would not give me the documents to submit to the insurance company to get my money back. I had no other options but to contact Chase regarding the credit card charge of $1,098.00. Sterling Vacations has yet to send me the requested documents.
