Review: My vehicle had a dead battery. Steubenville Pike Auto as an authorized AAA provider jumped my vehicle and I drove the vehicle to their shop to have the battery replaced. After the battery was replaced the vehicle still would not start. I had to arrange for AAA to tow the vehicle to an alarm specialist for further repair. The vehicle still would not start. I then had to arrange for the vehicle to be towed to[redacted] for repair.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the labor charges paid to both Steubenville Pike Auto and[redacted]. I agree I should pay for the new battery.

Response:

I am responding to your letter dated 4/17/14 regarding [redacted], The vehicle was towed in because it would not start. After testing the battery it was determined that it needed a new battery to start. Ms. [redacted] agreed as was told that how this vehicle was designed it would take 1.1 hour to replace the battery due to where the battery is located. After It was installed the vehicle alarm would not stop going off. Ms. [redacted] went home to get a key remote to try to get it to stop and that did not work. She was referred to another shop to see if they could help with why the aftermarket alarm because we do not work on them. ! was told from them that after the alarm was removed she still had issues and then it was towed to the dealer. At the dealership I was told that she had and issue with the vehicles main computer, PCM. Unfortunately she had two issues going on with this vehicle. We only replaced the battery as she agreed she should pay for in her letter to the Revdex.com. We will not be refunding her any money, because we did not charge far anything except the battery and install which she agrees she should have paid for.

Unprofessional & can't be trusted!! They will say anything to get your vehicle in their care then they lie about pricing or what your car has wrong with it or what it "doesn't" really need at all. Anything for a buck!

Review: I called asking for pricing as I rec'd a coupon in the mail. I was told they would accept my coupons & they would also match the price(s) for the same services that I had been given from their competitors "[redacted]" from across the street from their business. I also told them I was looking to additionally purchase 4 new tires and would they be willing to either price match then against the competition OR offer my additional discounts overall if I came there and purchased everything from them and also used the coupons I received in the mail and I was told yes! To please stop by this afternoon when they wouldn't be so busy and they would either match OR beat the prices I had rec'd from "[redacted]" I told his that I had an appt tomorrow with [redacted] for a discounted, bundled price for an oil change, emissions test, state inspections test and for 4 new tires. he said no problem, we will match or beat those prices for all those things and he repeated.. "for an oil change, inspection & an emissions test & for the purchasing of 4 new tires" I did just that. I waited a few hours and then went there. When I got to the counter I explained who I was, that I was the one who called and spoke to a male who said come in this afternoon and you would give me your best price matching and the lowest deal on new tires as well as accept the coupons I received in the mail. The man said yes, I spoke to you, hello, asked me for my keys, asked me for all my coupons that I had and then left and walked into the "bay area" where they work in the cars. He came back and said, you want an oil change, emissions and state inspection right? I said well yes BUT I would like to confirm the pricing, all the discounts invoked, the coupons I have and I also wanted to get new tires since you agreed to price match from the #'s (money) if What I received as the quotes and discounts from "[redacted]" Accross the street. I said I want to be sure that' your still agreeing to do that otherwise u will go there as u still have my appt scheduled for tomorrow as I didn't cancel it yet because I wanted to be sure you really were going to do as you agreed to do over the phone. He said, yes, of course we will, I have your coupons you gave me, I agreed over the phone to do it and the mechanic has your keys and started already. I said well we haven't talked prices since I arrived yet and I still want to be sure you are going to match or beat the prices I received from your competitors. He again said yes, we will and let me take care of a few customers the. We can discuss the tires and which ones. So they started working on my car, after about 20 mins or so I spoke up and said so any luck on gathering the tire options and pricing for me yet? He said sure, what size tires did you need again, I gave him the tire sizes, he wrote them down and said let me go see what we have available & he needed to ask one of the guys in the back a question and said I'll be right back. When he returned I said by the way what are you charging me for the oil change and the state inspection and the emissions test? I said you never said anything except you asked for my keys and whatever coupons I had for their shop. He then said well based on the coupons you have and the current promotions we are having, you will be charged $40 for the emissions test, $0-nothing being charged for the state inspection and sticker test because I gave him a coupon that clearly says that and I was being charged $19.99 for oil change as that is there current special right now, no coupon needed for that price. I said well I also have a $5 coupon that says it can be used towards $5 off when "any oil related service" is purchased and performed" he then said sorry I can NOT use the $5 oil coupon because the oil change is already being offered at a special price of $19.99. I then said well "[redacted]" is offering me the emissions, state inspection and an oil change for a total of $50.99 which included tax and that he said he would match or beat there prices. He said I'm sorry but I can't match that price, that's way too low, that's in fact lowered than what they are charged for it by the state of PA so he would make up the price difference to me in the tire deal we were doing to discuss next. So at this point they are now already working on my car for at a higher price charging me a higher price than what he already agreed to on the phone and in person and now he said that he will talk to me about making up to do it to me in the purchase of the tires that I'm going to make because that's where that there's a profit margin they could really work with discounts and lower pricing. Then he can back to counter and said, well we have a lot of brands to choose from that we have in stock and avalaibke for your size tires for your car. We mates it down to 2 brands. I had prices on those 2 brands and I researched then prior to know they were good tires and good quality as I had explained to him, the tires that are in my car now are only 1 year old, they are called "[redacted] but they are noisy and slippery when it's raining out. He gave me the price for the 2 brands we selected, $128 per tire for "[redacted]" and $117 for [redacted]. I said both of those prices are way too high and you are going to still lower then to price match and give me discounts on each tire right? He said no sorry that's as low as we can sell them to you per tire! I said well this is not acceptable! I told him, Not only is he $9 high than the price "[redacted]@ gave me for the oil change, emissions and state inspection and state sticker but now he is $35 higher per tire than them and $49 higher than [redacted] prices and both of them ([redacted] & [redacted] stir) Are also offering a $20-$60 rebate per tire!!! He said well sorry, we can't do any of those prices and in fact what I quoted you is the lowest we can go, sorry! Now I'm upset and I told him so. They lied to get me to come there, they started working in my car before he advised to tell me he would no longer price match the "[redacted]" pricing and now he wants to eat over charge me for 4 new tires when he said all along they would price match or do even better with discounting the tires well as the other services. To add insult to injury--- at the end of them working in my car, he tells me "MY CAR FAILED" the state inspection & that now "IF" I want the state Sticker I would need to BUY 1 new tire and then PAY then an additional $6 for the sticker for their time to put it in the window!!!!Desired Settlement: Give me a refund of some sort for the lies, time spent, aggravation, for the real savings I actually missed out on by having to use them and I missed out on the tire savings because I now couldn't "bundle" my services at [redacted] or [redacted] because they went ahead and did that part and over charged me and then failed me by -1 "right tire@ tread is too low!!!!! Really how is that even possible? I bought a 4 tires, new , last year, and now all of a sudden 1 tire didn't pass tread inspection? I call bull crap just like all the lies they did to me about the pricing and discounts they promised. I would accept a certified check or money order to satisfy this issue in the amount of $150. That is about the goal I am out since they did not price match or discount the services as agreed. I do not trust them so I do. It want them touching any of my vehicles!

Case# [redacted] January 11, 2012 Dear [redacted] I received your letter dated 1/7/2016 regarding [redacted]. After reading the letter some important facts were left out of her statement. We have fixed pricing on the services she was charged for (I have included a copy of the signs on the walls showing them). I spoke to the manager that took her phone call and he remembered talking to her and agreed to allow her to use multiple coupons for one visit (even though the coupons clearly state that they are not valid with other services) because she asked to do so. When she arrived at the shop she gave us all her information and her Pennsylvania registration card and insurance card to perform the inspection and emission test. She also informed us that she wanted an oil change and a price on tires and then provided us with the coupons. At that time, we began the emission test (which passed) then started the oil change, while the inspection mechanic looked over the vehicle for the inspection test. At that time, it was determined that the vehicle did not pass the safety inspection. It would need a right front tire (to answer her question about only one tire beginning needed, that happens when a vehicle is out of alignment. That alone does not make a vehicle fail state inspection but can cause a tire to wear down faster than the other tires. Which appears to be what happened to Ms. [redacted]’s right front tire). Our manager at that time explained to her that she would need at least one tire to pass the inspection but would recommend two tires. With tires it is not like comparing apples to apples there are many different manufactures and tread designs that effect pricing. On some tires with the same size you could see a price difference from $50-$225 based on the different specifications. He explained to Ms. [redacted] that these were our options and the best pricing we can do on tires. She was not pleased with that and wanted a better discount. Unfortunately, for the size she needed from our supplier that was the best pricing available. She was only then charged for the services we performed. An oil change for $19.99 with coupon (regular price $36.99) and a Pennsylvania emission test $39.97 and Pennsylvania safety inspection test No Charge with coupon (regular $25.00). All this was explained to her at that time she paid her invoice (I included a copy). She spent $59.86 and is asking for $150.00 refund. We will not be refunding any money for the work we did to Ms. [redacted] vehicle.Sincerely, Steubenville Pike Auto

Do not recommend this auto repair service, my car had been towed twice because they were unable to diagnose my over heated problem when they finally did, and my cost of 838.00 for repair water pump, timing belt serpentine belt and coolant and thermostat , one year later my car over heated again took it to another repair shop, they said I needed a water pump, and thermostat, it was under warranty , but I wouldn't trust them to touch my car again I paid another 783.00 a year later. Stay away from Steubenville pike auto.
