Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground has reviewed the complaint by *** ***The North Fork River on dates of June 20th-21st was never closed to floaters by the Missouri Highway Patrol or the USDA US Forestry ServiceThe river was not at flood stageTwin Bridges Canoe and Campground placed vessels on the water the day of June 20th including children and familiesOther outfitters on the North Fork River were consulted about water conditions downstream and river was deemed floatableStaff from other outfitters and of Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground were constantly monitoring the water levels the entire dayOther outfitters on the North Fork River, *** *** and *** of *** *** did place canoes, kayaks and rafts on the river June 20th-21stDanger always exists on the North Fork River and that weekend, no other complaints about water levels were madeThere were many compliments made from other customers about how nice the water was that no one had to drag canoes or kayaksAt the beginning of all floats PRIOR to customers loading on shuttles for upstream floats and for those floating downstream from the dock, all guests were counselled on elevated water levels along with dangers that exist on the water
Consent was signed by the *** Family and the *** Family agreed to float during these conditions FULLY AWARE of potential dangerSeveral options were available such as a shorter float but they persisted to float the longest float downstream to Blair, a mile float, so they could be with their groupThe experienced floaters that were with the ***'s group determined the river was safe and this was a personal decision made by the experienced floaters in the group, not by Twin Bridges StaffStaff at Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground ALWAYS presents potential dangers and those who were novice floaters were advised NOT to float the dates of June 20th and June 21st
The *** Family did complain at the end of the trip and Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground did give *** raincheck for their disappointing trip the raincheck is good for year and the *** did camp for nights and did use facilities within the campground during their stay with usThe *** raincheck does cover the cost of the float trip they completedThis raincheck may be used as cash value here at our facilities
We are regretful the *** Family did not enjoy their stayWe do offer other activities other than floating such as tubing and hikingIf we can assist in any other way with this case, please let us know,
