I am rejecting this response because: It is true that I have the ability not only to read and understand contracts but I write contracts for construction all the timeI normally deal with professionals who know what they are doing and know that wood work is painted with oil base paint and walls are painted with latex or water base paintThis is a well known fact in the construction industry and all painters know and abide by itI did tell Ms*** who represented Mr*** in the contract negotiations that I thought the person who painted before had painted the wood with latex and it would need a kill on it of it would need to be cleaned and sanded before being painted with oil base paintI guess she did not explain or communicate this to her painting contractor (husband) but this is something that a professional would have known and made arrangements to correct communicate and estimate in their bid any wayWhen I asked him about it he said he did not know how to solve the issue but he had a friend who might be able to tell him how to fix itI offered to buy the material after paying more than the contract amount because of a problem with counter tops that he also quoted in his bid after he did a survey of the site before biddingHe should have had all the questions answered before biddingHe did not since he billed me for more than contract amount and now the paint is coming off the wood workThis is very unprofessional and if he does not know the difference how can he claim to be a painter? He also left my kitchen sink with only one clamp and one side was up and looseI had to install all the clips to secure my sink to the counter and then he left a water leakWhen he went back to install a piece of counter top trim he left off the end of the counter top he left my refrigerator unplugged and the ice melted and water was all over the floor and in the refrigerator and it does not work nowHis work was at best shows very low attention to detail and professionalismI would like to be reimbursed for the amount to paint the woodwork that the paint is peeling off of since it was not painted properlyThe refrigerator is messed up, the floor was flooded, the sink was not properly installed, then he told me he thought the counter top he installed was warped and that is why the sink would not seat correctly to the countertop but he did nothing about itThis is like taking your car to a professional painter and the first time you wash it most of the paint comes offI do not think that is professional or acceptableI could not with good conscience let him work for anyone else and destroy their home the way he has mine
Regards

To [redacted],
Please consider this my response to the above referenced complaint.
Mr. [redacted] does not really seem to know what is complaining about. I will try to address it as he seemed to ramble...

about several things.

1.       The listing agreement that he is referring to was filled out and a copy given to him. After a couple of days he changed his mind because he did not like the terms of the agreement and wanted to cancel. His reason was that he did not understand it. I released him from the agreement when he sent me an email requesting to do. I do not understand why he felt the need to bring this into his complaint but it is a non-issue because it did not go any further.

2.       His complaint in regards to the work done on his property is rambling and he keeps referring to a conversation we had. I do not deal in conversations but use facts instead and the fact is that the work performed was in complete compliance of the contract that he signed. The contract specifically stated that the material used was to be of like material. It can’t get any clearer than that. I have dealing with him since July. He is a grown man very capable of reading and comprehending what has read. He had a contract that was drawn up detailing the exactly what was going to be done.

3.       The last part about [redacted] threating him is absolutely not true. [redacted] told him not to send any more emails to me making demands or he would repay in kind. Mr. [redacted] also said he does not know what that means but then in the next sentence says he regards that as a threat. It was a statement telling him that should he continue this harassment we would have to seek legal recourse.

4.       I don’t really know what he thinks he is going to achieve by this but it must stop now.

Regards,

[redacted] & [redacted] Ihrig
