I just learned I had been duped by the sales team at Steve Lewis SubaruWhen purchasing my Subaru, I was told for dollars a month I would be enrolled in a plan that would pay for my oil changes and I would get new tires when I needed them! Did they tell me the truth! NoAfter oil changes you are expected to pay! You don't get your tires if you are late on any oil changes! When I told the service person I was told to read the fine print in my contractWhen I get my car back today after I will never purchase another vehicle from here again! I hate being lied tooShame in Larry at Steve Lewis for lying to myself and my partner

Car was acting up so I took it to Steve Lewis who also deals with Volvos. They gave me new brake pads and rotors but the car was worse than before. On 7/23 I was out shopping when car began to act up. Car was not driving smoothly.Car would tremble as I drove and as I would be stopped at traffic light. Very scaryI went to Steve Lewis Subaru/Volvo ( now in Hadley on Rte. 9) because they were so close by and I had bought car there when it was Performance Motoring. It took them 4 hrs. before they could look at it. Then they test drove it. CHECK ENGINE light was on,but, they ignored it. It was on when I left there. They Came to me and said brakes needed rotors and pads. I trusted them and okayed the work which took about 1 and 1/2 hrs. more. I saw them test drive it again and I know that that mechanic felt it was still not fixed because after I paid the bill($534.49) and got in to start it the trembling was MUCH worse than before. I went in and got [redacted] to come out and start it. He said the trembling would disappear as I drove it.I knew this was a lie, but, I had been there so long and I was very tired. I have MS and because the weather was so hot and humid that day I just wanted to get out of there. They were not going to fix it properly.I took a chance driving to [redacted] in [redacted]. I was very worried that the car would break down and I'd be stranded in that heat. The car drove terribly, but, I made it just before closing. I had to leave it.The next day [redacted] knew right off the problem had to do with the ignition coils and they fixed it properly. The bill was $577.34.The problem was NOT the brakes and the Steve Lewis people knew it,but, I guess because I'm a female senior ciizen they could get away with this and I'd accept it quietly. And I really don't even know if they did the brake work as I had no problems with them before.Desired SettlementI would at least like a refund on the labor cost.Business' Initial Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted] ext [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]The customer called the local consumer protection agency. We worked out a resolution as follows:The customer has a service credit of $200.00 towards any parts or service at Steve Lewis Subaru(not to expire). The resolution was agreed upon during a 3 way call with the [redacted], The consumer protection agency and Steve Lewis on 8/15/2013. The reason for the service credit in lieu of a refund was the customers description of the original complaint of : "Customer states vibration when braking test drive and advise". we verified the customer concern and replaced the front brakes and front rotors to correct the issue. At the time we had no idea that the vehicle had a vibration issue at idle. Consumer's Final Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I really am leary of having anything done there because of this incident. I would've preferred a $200.00 refund,I am hoping I can trust them to put oil back in the car after I have an oil change there. I have heard of this happening to people and their engines were ruined and they could not prove the service dept. was to blame. It's getting so that you can't trust anyone to do the repairs right anymore and the customer is always on the losing end. That car was idling AND running rough, too. When that man from [redacted]. tried the car after brake job he KNEW it was not right and made that ludicrous statement that once I drive it it should go away. Yeah, he just wanted ME to drive away and not come back. It's waht this man said that really upsets me more than anything.I guess I have no choice but to accept their offer otherwise I get nothing. But, I'd like to know what I can do if they make another service or repair that goes wrong. I know they are not going to welcome me there with open arms.Trusting them is going to be difficult. I'll probably have to have their work checked by someone else.
