According to Customer Care of *** the product was not at faultTherefore, I was referred to the *** Store which deals with the installers used by LumberThey sent a certified floor inspector to my home in AugustHis report said that the transition moldings were not installed properlyThey were nailed down, not just glued, causing pinch pointsThis could result in buckling and separatingThe inspector I hired in October agreed with this observationHowever, he also noted that no allowance was made for expansion at the floor/wall, furnace vents, stairwell edge molding or at the stairwell moldingThere are no expansion joints at any of the doorways or transitionsThe *** Store said that Steve's Flooring would correct the transition moldings because they could cause problems laterI think the problems have already occurred in other parts of the floorI hired a certified floor inspector in October to give a report of his findingsHe said he thought that the subfloor had not been leveled properly by the work crew before the vinyl click was put downThis resulted in floor separation and bucklingThis was not due to my kitchen chairs with rollersNo where in the manufacturer's statement which I received initially did the papers say not to use rolling chairs on the purchased flooringIf that had been a concern, the owner of Steve's Flooring should have told us about it when he sat in the chairs to write down the estimateSince the flooring became a problem in June there have been other areas of concern which have arisenIn the foyer, which is not near the kitchen, one of the panels has risen enough to make it difficult to open and close the front doorAll of this information was sent to Revdex.com in Virginia and to Customer Care and the *** Storel assumed they were in contact with Steve's Flooring
I am not "going after" Steve's Flooringl just want the guarantee for a year honoredI was told at the time of purchase that in order to have a guarantee for a year I would need to use one of their installersI did thisYesterday I was told by *** Store that I could not select another of their installers because Steve's Flooring held the year guarantee and that only he could honor thatThe flooring was installed in the later part of MayHowever, problems with the floor started by the end of JuneThis is certainly within the year range of the guarantee
During installation neither the owner or the partner of Steve's Flooring were here to supervise the installationNor did either check the work after completionHis partner did come over when I later called to tell him about the initial problemsSteve's Flooring did offer to repair the main area of concern if I bought the needed flooringHowever, I think that repair should be covered without charge to me under the year guaranteeI can understand why Steve's Flooring is not associating with *** anymoreHowever, he was at the time of my installation
