Response received via fax and e-mail to Revdex.com.Scan of accompanying 'Buyer's Guide' docs attached; text of letter reads as follows:"May 4th, 2016Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted] Our warranty is cut and dry it is a miles or days whichever comes first powertrain only I pay 25% of parts and 25% of labor all work to be done by me Attached is a copy of the Buyers Guide she signed stating all of this She did contact me about a week after she bought the Nitro and said the check engine light came on but not drive ability issues at all just came on When she brought it in I scanned it and checked it over at no charge I can’t remember the code numbers off hand but it was catalyst efficiency and a new converter would fix this I told her I would help with the problem and it would cost her roughly $for an aftermarket converter installed but she said she would have to wait for a bit to do that I also advised her that an aftermarket converter would clean up the efficiency but there is still a chance of the light coming back on because they don’t always jive with all makes and models I also told her that a factory original would keep the light off but they are very expensive and she didn’t want to go that route She said we can do the aftermarket when she saves up and if the light came back on she wouldn’t worry about it Then almost months after she bought it she posted on Facebook that she was pissed and was going to get an attorney cause she went on another trip and the check engine light started flashing and vehicle was chugging Later that day she called me about her running issue and I told her that it flashes for a misfire probably a spark plug or coil I told her at this point I would be doing her a favor (warranty expired) and I wasn’t going to help her with that issue In the same conversation I also told her that I will still fix her converter when she is ready and that’s the last I heard of it until this letter I don’t have a problem paying my share of the convertor but the misfire is an unrelated problem But now I am nervous about putting in an aftermarket convertor because if the light comes back on she won’t be happy So I think we should install a factory original Dodge convertor, it is more money but then all catalyst codes will be solved for sure I will pay my share of that too as I would have right away I don’t feel I am responsible for a misfire well after the warranty expires This vehicle is far from a lemon We have been in business for years and I have also done mechanics for years in a town of people We have never had an issue like this before with a customer We have sold hundreds of vehicles over the years and have always been fair with peopleSteve’s Autos & More"
