Steven A. Mills Plumbing Reviews (%countItem)

They sent a plumber to my house on 2-29-2020. My toilet was leaking, and it was coming through the ceiling into my kitchen. This toilet has been worked on at least five times. The plumber said he fixed the problem, so I signed the papers. Less than one minute after the plumber leaves my house, water starts pouring from the upstairs bathroom to the kitchen. I ran out of the house to see if I can catch him before he pulled off. The water was leaking worse than what it was before he came.
I took video footage of it for insurance purposes and to also show the next plumber how bad it leaks, in hopes that the video could help find and fix the root cause of the leak.

On 3-2-2020, I spoke to the office assistant about the problem and my expectations. She said they might have to pull some of the floorings up, etc. to find the cause. When they arrived at my house, the owner, whom I believe is a racist man, speaks to me in a very blunt/rude manner. I asked how he was going to proceed to find the problem. I told them what his office manager told me, and he says, "they are not plumbers; I'm not doing all of that." I said okay and told them I was going to call his office to see where the miscommunication was. He and his employee spent less than 5 minutes in my bathroom, and then that was when the owner cussed at me for no reason. He kept telling me I was upset when I was not. He said I was trying to "bt" him and blame his company for damages caused to my kitchen ceiling. I told him I did not understand why he was cussing at me and that I was not trying to blame his company for any damages. He then started to cut me off as I was trying to explain to him why I asked that someone return to my address. He and his employees were rude and aggressive. I asked them to leave my property because I no longer felt safe. I also refused to speak to the office staff after they told me the owner did not cuss me out; he was calling me on my bt. I put in a formal complaint to American Home Shield, who sent these people to my home. I was completely caught off guard and made to feel like a second class citizen. This company owes me an apology, and they need to find out why my toilet keeps leaking into my kitchen.

Desired Outcome

Finish the job They stopped the leak from my toilet but did not find the root cause of the leak. I want them to find the cause of the leak and fix the cause of the problem so it will stop leaking into my kitchen. Its leaked into my kitchen several times and already had to file one insurance claim for the same exact toilet and for the same exact problem.

Steven A. Mills Plumbing Response • Mar 11, 2020

On February 29, 2020, a tech from our company arrived in response to a home warranty claim dispatch to find a leaking toilet and a water stained ceiling from the leak. Upon arrival, the tech noticed that the toilet was leaking from its wax seal. In response, the tech disconnected and resealed the toilet. Believing this resolved the leak, the tech prepared to leave. Before the tech left, the toilet began leaking again. The tech returned to the toilet and repaired the tank bolt. After the tank bolt repair, the toilet stopped leaking.

On March 2, 2020 another dispatch call from the home warranty company was made regarding the same toilet. On this occasion the owner and and a tech arrived at the property. When the owner arrived, the toilet was not leaking and the resident acknowledged that the toilet had not leaked since the tech repaired the tank bolt on February 29, 2020. The property owner wanted our company to replace the toilet or repair the ceiling stain and charge to the warranty company. After explaining that the warranty company would not pay us to perform this work we left. There were no repairs to be made that would be covered under the resident's warranty.
