Review: I had an appointment for a check up, x-ray, and cleaning. When I arrived they where no aware of my appointment. The Woman at the front desk had verified the appointment from a written form of some sort and said " oh yeah I just forgot to enter it into the system. She gave me a clip board and asked me to fill out the information and that they'll call my name. soon after she asked me to go ahead and pay my co-pay. it was something along the lines of can I get you to pay your copay and that was all. I said sure, paid and sat back down.

After they called my name I got the x-rays and noticed that they where digital this was how I found out. after the dentist came in and checked my teeth. I asked about my cleaning and they said that I wasn't scheduled for a cleaning. they seemed to be making up excuses. but I was never explained about anything until I asked and then they seemed to be not ready to answer my simple questions. Like who schedules a check up and not a cleaning. Later I asked my wife and she said that it sounded odd to her as well.

I was never told about digital X-rays and would like to have my 40.00 refunded back to our credit card. X-rays are covered fully by my insurance and should of been told that digital x-rays would of cost more. I found out after my wife called that the 40 co-pay was for digital X-rays.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to refund 40.00 to my Credit card.

I have been going to this clinic for several years. Recently took my son & daughter in for routine 6 mo cleanings...I was 7 min late and Dr. Huffstutler refused to see my son..would have taken 5 min. I've never even seen this man before (Dr. Huffstutler) he had an associate that worked there that I thought was Dr. Huffstutler all this time that was VERY nice and conservative in treatment, didn't try to rip you off. Dr. Huffstutler is RUDE and greedy. I'm changing dentists IMMEDIATELY and will NEVER go back there.

I highly recommend Dr. Steven Huffstutler and his staff. They were very professional, attentive, informative, and helpful. As positive an experience as a visit to the dental chair can be. Thank you!

Dr. Huffstutler recently treated a cavity he discovered. The procedure was virtually pain free. He has done similar work years before which avoided more extensive procedures. The work held up very well over time. Another dentist was ready to place a crown, but Dr. Huffstutler had a better solution. I am very pleased once again.

I've been seeing Dr. Huffstutler for over 10 years and hope he doesn't retire anytime soon. He is the most knowledgeable and caring dentist who has ever worked on me. If a person needs a referral to a great dentist, I always recommend Dr. Huffstutler. I actually work for a dental insurance company and could go anywhere, but I CHOOSE to see Dr. Huffstutler. And I should know, because I work with hundreds of dentists everyday, and he is truly one of the very best!

I have been going to this dental office for several years, but had seen someone else besides Dr. Huffstutler. I had a problem with a crown, ended up having to get a root canal and still dealing with a numb tongue 2 months later. Insurance would not cover a new crown because it was less than 5 years old. When I tried to discuss this my dissatisfaction with having to pay for another crown, on top of the root canal, the office manager lost her temper each time. She hung up on me the last time when I said I would be making a complaint. Got a letter from them saying they would not be seeing me again. I don't want to go back, but now have to find another dentist to put another crown on. Horrible experience overall.

Dr. Huffstutler was amazing! I was extremely nervous about going to the dentist for a filling, as I am not a fan of needles or drilling. Dr. Huffstuler's technique was so impressive I never even felt the numbing shot and the procedure was completely painless. He was gentle and informative and made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure, I would highly recommend him to anyone else.

Review: I have dental insurance with Metlife/Safeguard. Dr Huffstutler has a contract with this company.

I was made to pay for services prior to services being rendered and was also required to pay for work they "thought" might have to be done...that would be 3 root canals. The root canals were not needed or done.

I spoke with [redacted] in the dentist office on several occasions with concerns about the charges. I spoke with the Safeguard as well. Safeguard stated I was overcharged on the work that was done by $660.00. The insurance co called [redacted] twice in one day but she would not speak with them. They were told that she would call them back. But she did not. Safeguard advised me to file a grievance with them which I did.

I went in for my next appointment and spoke with [redacted] about my concerns and asked her to call Safeguard and speak with them and me together so that we could resolve my concerns. [redacted] stated my insurance problems are between me and Safeguard and she does not have to speak with them. [redacted] stated there is a part in the contract stating they can charge more. The dental assistant was standing there and [redacted] stated to her the extra cost was for high nobel materials and because the teeth that were worked on were molars. However, the teeth worked on were incisors not molars. [redacted] stated she did not have time for this and that I was holding up other patients. I stated I wanted to resolve this before more work was done as they still had $1,280 of mine and stated the appointment today would take that and I would owe another $400. There was to be work on 2 teeth this visit and the last visit was for 4 teeth. I asked why the 2 teeth would cost so much...[redacted] stated I needed to leave the office and they would not be my dental office any longer. I asked what was I to do about the 3 permanent crowns. [redacted] stated she didn't know and would call me. I asked for a refund of the $1,280 and was told Dr Huffstetler would have to do that. I asked when he would be able to do that and was told by [redacted], "I have no idea."

I waited for 4 days and did not receive a call so I called to speak with [redacted] again. I again tried to discuss the charges and the insurance contract but she would not discuss it. I asked about the refund, she stated the refund request would have to be sent to the CPA to make sure the funds were there. She further stated that since I cancelled the appointment they would deduct $50 from the refund. I stated to [redacted] that she was the one who cancelled my appointment. She stated that she would not be talked down to and hung up.

While I was in the office the for the last visit I spoke with another patient who stated she too had found that they were charging her more than her policy indicated they should. She and a young man there stated they keep calling them in for work that they don't understand and don't feel they need.

I have researched reviews on several websites and find that many people are being overcharged by this office and are dropped when they question the charges.

I feel this is a serious situation and possibly insurance fraud.Desired Settlement: I am not confident that Joey will refund my money. I want the full $1,280 refunded and an adjustment on the billing to correctly reflect what is allowed to be charged in accordance with the insurance contract and refunded in the amount of $660.00.

Response:

I received the release, signed/dated and returned unaltered.

In response the the individual's assertions, please be advised of the

following:

The patient was seen and treated under a DMO product. The

fees are set by the insurer, not my practice. There are typically many things

done during routine dental treatment (such as that which this individual had)

that have additional charges added to a base fee. In this particular

individual's case, she has written a complaint to her insurer contesting her

treatment fees. Once we receive and review the disposition from the insurer,

then we will respond, if necessary, to either the insurer and/or the patient.

There will be no further communication with Revdex.com concerning the individual's

assertions. Additionally, I have made the decision to not further treat this

individual, not because of her questions about her fees, but rather because of

her treatment of my office staff, and her interaction with other patients in my

practice during one of her appointments. I do not tolerate behavior of this

type. The individual has been referred to her insurer to aid in the selection

of another provider who might better fit her

demands.

Dr. Huffstutler and staff were courteous and helpful the entire visit and set me at ease as they worked on my teeth.
