Complaint ID # ***As to the complaint that we received on October 5th To refer back to the original complaint: we do not know anything about a rain sensor not working or being glued back together and not working since the job was completed. We did give Mrs*** the phone number to
*** at * * * *** about the skylight manufacture for Mrs***The skylight manufacture did agree to send her a new curb mount skylight system for no charge but would not pay for any other request. We also told Mrs*** that we would measure and reorder this system and install it for no charge on her existing wood curbWe have no evidence that the roof itself has leaked and we believe still that her problem is condensation from extreme temperature changes from inside and outside temperatures causing her wood frame on interior to mildewBut we are sill willing to order and install her a new dome. We will also pay a painting contractor to clean and paint her wood frame on inside area if necessary. Complaint ID# *** & ***We at *** want to thank you for your concern on this matter. As you at the Revdex.com know our unblemished outstanding record speaks for its self not having any complaints until now as long as we have been in business. We hope we can resolve this
matter quickly.Regarding a rain sensor: The rain sensor was fixed the same day we were notified and we never heard another word about it not working until this complaint on 8-24-15. I guess it was not working for years of completing the job? I'm sure we would have been notified if that was the case.As to response about the skylight: The skylight dome was ordered special made from Maxium Skylight Systems through B & R Supply at the time of the re-roof. We did not make it, we only installed it on top of the customers existing wood curb on the roof. After our last inspection of the skylight dome from a month or so ago, because our customer had called and said her skylight might be leaking our findings are as follows: WE saw no water stains at all that we would expect to see on sheetrock below skylight area. Only mildew, not mold around the inside of skylight painted existing wood curb at painted area that protrudes above roof lineWe did see some moisture inside between the double lexan skylight panels at that time, that could evaporate if the gasket between the two domes allows it over time. We contacted our supplier B & R Supply and they contacted Maxium skylight. They told B & R that this could be a seal problem or it could be extreme temperature differations form inside to outside temperatures causing it to condensate and cause mildew. This is logical. It's like a window sweating in a house on the pane when you have cooling and heating differentials. Any way Maxium did offer to replace the dome unit for free, but not willing to do anything else, no cleaning or installation. We are willing to install it for free but we want to do some minor water testing to prove our theory before we do if that is acceptable. Then we will re-measure skylight and re-order and re-install when Maxium gets it to B & R Supply. The cost of a new skylight dome that was ordered only cost us $ and that's what our customer was charged.We could do this probably around the end of next week as soon as *** gets back from Houston from his treatments he is going through. We can contact the owner if acceptable next week after the date of 9-2-when *** is back.Let us know. Thanks, *** ***
