Last fall Mr [redacted] brought his recently purchased Ski Supreme Vtournament ski boat in for a winterize, seawater pump replacement, serpentine belt replacement and to have a Faria multifunction gauge evaluated The serpentine belt, winterize and seawater pump repairs were all successfully completed and paid for The Faria multifunction gauge displays not only depth but speed, trip log, clock, volt meter, air &surface temp and audible/visual alarms It was determined that this Faria gauge was defective After contacting Ski Supreme the boat manufacturer, we were informed that since those gauges were not used in the last years they are no longer in inventory Therefore Mr [redacted] decided to locate a used gauge The first used gauge was provided to us and it too did not work A second gauge was then provided by Mr [redacted] that required a modification to the boat wiring harness, this gauge also failed to work The boat came to us on 10/28/and was picked up on 12/9/15, during this time it was stored in a yard open to the elements which Mr [redacted] was fully aware of Aside from the gauge repair all other work was completed in a week’s time frame, the additional time taken occurred with Mr [redacted] ’ s search and shipping time of the gauges he located After the failure of the second gauge we referred Mr [redacted] to one of the local tournament ski boat dealers in town as they specialize in these types of electrical systems Upon picking up the boat on 12/9/15, Mr [redacted] expressed frustration at the cleanliness of his boat and that his gauge still did not function To help ease this frustration Stevens Marine detailed the boat and sent the gauges directly to Faria the manufacturer for repair as requested by Mr [redacted] all at no charge Attached is a letter from the manufacturer Faria stating that the gauges are too old for them to repair Unfortunately without proper parts Stevens Marine is unable to make the requested repair As advised Mr [redacted] will need to take his boat to a service facility with factory support and experience to modify his system to accept another type of gauge The lack of this gauge does not render the boat unusable, it is fully functional Thank you, Eric P [redacted] GM Stevens Marine

I’m sorry that Mr [redacted] is frustrated with this The gauge was broken when it came to us and is still broken Stevens Marine has spent several hours in trying to trouble shoot this issue and assist with installing parts provided by Mr [redacted] Unfortunately the parts provided will not work and the manufacturer of the gauges no longer offers them Stevens Marine in an effort to ease the frustration with the situation has not billed for any of the time incurred in trying to repair Mr [redacted] ’s boat Stevens Marine will not pay to repair Mr [redacted] ’s boat The wiring will need to be adapted to work with some other type of system Thank you, Eric P [redacted] GM Stevens Marine

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Stevens Marine is still blatantly sidestepping the issue that they caused a significant amount of damage to the boat Stevens Marine keep coming back to the "gauge" issue and ignoring the original complaint that they have damaged all of the wiring which has caused all of the other gauges to not function The boat has dozen switches and gauges only one needed repair when the boat came in When the boat left Stevens Marine almost every switch and gauge was broken due to their re-wiring of the dash harness without my authorization The boat is now being repaired by an authorized dealer and I am moving forward with a legal suit against Stevens Marine which includes all of my bills plus damages and time lost on water Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The amount of misinformation and blatant lies from MrP*** is simply astounding. I purchased brand new never used/never installed Faria gauges after Stevens Marine failed to order them after months of waiting. These gauges were drop shipped straight from a Faria dealer to Stevens Marine. Attached are receipts showing both gauges were new. No used gauges were ordered as MrP*** claims. The first gauge they received they damaged. I quote their service manager Dan P*** “Sorry *** I think we burned up your new gauge I smell something burnt inside after we tried installing it”. I then ordered a second NEW gauge. At this point Stevens Marine decided to re-wire the boats electronics without my knowledge or authorization. I can only assume they realized they have damaged critical electrical components while trying to install the first gauge. MrEric P***’s timeline is also completely wrong. The boat has spent a total combined time of months in Stevens Marine possession, most of this time was them trying to fix all the damage they have caused.
I was informed by Dan that the boat is fully ready to go and fixed on June 1st Upon arrival on said day I asked Dan if any of the wiring has been touched. He told me no, everything is original no wiring on the boat has been touched and it’s ready to go. I then invited him to come into their boat yard and look at the boat with me. The entire dash was taken apart, with cut and spliced wires everywhere. None of the gauges were working; no electrical systems in the boat were working. Dan’s face turned pale and he was visibly embarrassed and shaken. He promised to take care of the “issue”. Without my knowledge or authorization Stevens’s Marine caused a great amount of damage to the boats electrical systems. The boat does not have a working; speedometer, RPM meter, oil gauges, temp gauges, volt gauges, no working safety lights. This boat is not legal to operate on any public body of water in this condition. For a boat repair facility manager to claim “it’s fully functional” is a joke and an insult see attached gauge recieptsSincerely,*** ***

Stevens Marine is still blatantly sidestepping the issue that they caused a significant amount of damage to the boat.  Stevens Marine keep coming back to the "gauge" issue and ignoring the original complaint that they have damaged all of the wiring which has caused all of the other gauges to not function.  The boat has 2 dozen switches and gauges only one needed repair when the boat came in.  When the boat left Stevens Marine almost every switch and gauge was broken due to their re-wiring of the dash harness without my authorization.  The boat is now being repaired by an authorized dealer and I am moving forward with a legal suit against Stevens Marine which includes all of my bills plus damages and time lost on water.

Last fall Mr. [redacted] brought his recently purchased 2007 Ski Supreme V232 tournament ski boat in for a winterize, seawater pump replacement, serpentine belt replacement and to have a Faria multifunction gauge evaluated.  The serpentine belt, winterize and seawater pump repairs were all...

successfully completed and paid for.  The Faria multifunction gauge displays not only depth but speed, trip log, clock, volt meter, air &surface temp and audible/visual alarms.  It was determined that this Faria gauge was defective.  After contacting Ski Supreme the boat manufacturer, we were informed that since those gauges were not used in the last 9 years they are no longer in inventory.  Therefore Mr. [redacted] decided to locate a used gauge.  The first used gauge was provided to us and it too did not work.  A second gauge was then provided by Mr. [redacted] that required a modification to the boat wiring harness, this gauge also failed to work.  The boat came to us on 10/28/15 and was picked up on 12/9/15, during this time it was stored in a yard open to the elements which Mr. [redacted] was fully aware of.  Aside from the gauge repair all other work was completed in a week’s time frame, the additional time taken occurred with Mr. [redacted]’ s search and shipping time of the gauges he located.  After the failure of the second gauge we referred Mr. [redacted] to one of the local tournament ski boat dealers in town as they specialize in these types of electrical systems.  Upon picking up the boat on 12/9/15, Mr. [redacted] expressed frustration at the cleanliness of his boat and that his gauge still did not function.  To help ease this frustration Stevens Marine detailed the boat and sent the gauges directly to Faria the manufacturer for repair as requested by Mr. [redacted] all at no charge.  Attached is a letter from the manufacturer Faria stating that the gauges are too old for them to repair.  Unfortunately without proper parts Stevens Marine is unable to make the requested repair.  As advised Mr. [redacted] will need to take his boat to a service facility with factory support and experience to modify his system to accept another type of gauge.  The lack of this gauge does not render the boat unusable, it is fully functional.

I’m sorry that Mr. [redacted] is frustrated with this.  The gauge was broken when it came to us and is still broken.  Stevens Marine has spent several hours in trying to trouble shoot this issue and assist with installing parts provided by Mr. [redacted].  Unfortunately the parts provided will not work and the manufacturer of the gauges no longer offers them.  Stevens Marine in an effort to ease the frustration with the situation has not billed for any of the time incurred in trying to repair Mr. [redacted]’s boat.  Stevens Marine will not pay to repair Mr. [redacted]’s boat.  The wiring will need to be adapted to work with some other type of system
Thank you,
