Steve's Garage Reviews (1)

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Short and too the point:
1. Did Steve's Garage fix the vibration issue with the vehicle that they had from July 24 - August 22, 2015?  NO.  Therefore, if they did not fix the vibration issue, but charged me for repairs, how can Steve's Garage truthfully specify that "they repaired the vehicle in a fashion that every shop would have done in the same manner" as specified in their response?
2. Does Steve's Garage have any written authorization for work that they performed.  NO.  I never signed any pre-work authorization documents.  Therefore, all items that I specified in my original complaint still stand, such as unauthorized oil change and unauthorized installment of CV Axle and shaft.  Steve's Garage specifies in their response that they "did not charge me for the gasket on the drain plug", but the receipt received from Steve's Garage clearly specifies that they charged me for the engine oil filter, synthetic oil, and a oil change labor fee.  Additionally, they charged me for unauthorized work to repair the CV Axle and CV Axle Shaft.  Request mandate that Steve's Garage provide pre-authorized signed written proof of repairs. The only conversations between Steve's Garage and I involved discussion of the front differential (NOTHING ELSE WAS EVER DSCUSSED).
3. Why did I not have Steve's Garage perform additional work that they specified my vehicle needed? In Steve's Garages response, he specified that additional issues such as the "right front lower control arm was very bad."  Other issues identified in Steve's Garage response were a "U-Joint located on the main drive shaft and a carrier bearing needed replaced."  This information was disclosed to me on the day I picked the vehicle up.  Long story short: It was not that I neglected the vehicle by not having Steve's Garage repair these additional issues, it was that I had lost faith in his professional abilities to properly diagnose my vehicle and I felt as if he was searching to milk as much money as possible from me without insurance that the vehicle would be repaired.  Steve's Garage had the vehicle from July 24 - August 22.  The vehicle had the same vibration issue when I picked it up as it had when I dropped it off.  I no longer had trust that they would repair my vehicle or continue to keep it for an unspecified period of time.  If Steve's Garage had discussed the vehicle repairs that they deemed necessary, why didn't Steve's Garage request authorization to perform the additional repairs at the same time that they repaired the CV Axle and Shaft?  Answer: Because they never received authorization in the first place to replace the CV Axle or shaft.
4. After picking my vehicle up from Steve's Garage, I took my vehicle to [redacted] Automotive in Kearneysville, WV to have the car repaired.  Was the vibration issue fixed by [redacted] Automotive?  YES, in three business days I had my vehicle back and it was running without any vibration issues.
5. Did [redacted] Automotive specify on the repair receipt that the previous mechanic misdiagnosed problem with drive shaft? YES.  Did [redacted] Automotive also specify that the front differential did not need replaced?  YES.  (See lower left hand corner of attachment repair receipt from  [redacted] Automotive.
In summary, I have provided substantial documentation to support my complaint, and should be awarded the financial request specified in the original complaint.  Steve's Garage failed to fix the vibration issue but charged me a fee.  How can Steve's Garage specify that they did not misdiagnose the issue, when a second automotive shop clearly wrote that the previous mechanic had misdiagnosed the issue, and the second shop fixed the vibration issue in three business days.
This complaint should be closed and the findings and results should be in my favor.
Regards,
