Steve's New Sunoco Reviews (1)

Review: On Sunday November 30th 2014 at 2:00pm, I stopped at this Sunoco to purchase gas for my car. I wanted to purchase $5.00 worth of gas; I had $3.50 and I had the remaining $1.50 in pennies. I went into the gas station and told the woman behind the counter, who was the owner (an older lady with short dark hair), that I wanted $5.00 worth of gas and that I had $1.50 in loose pennies. She stated that she didn't want to take my pennies because were not "wrapped up" and she also stated that she didn't have anywhere to put them. I didn't make a fuss about it at the time and I told her that I would just go to another gas station that wouldn't mind taking my pennies. So I collected my changed off of the counter and drove my car across the street to [redacted] where my pennies were gladly accepted and I was offered great customer service. Now this may seem like an insignificant issue that I have with Sunoco because it involves pennies. However, it's not about the money, it's about the principles of proper customer service. I am an entrepreneur and I know that without my customers that support me, I wouldn't have a business. There will never be a time when I would refuse to accept money from a paying customer, no matter how small the amount may be. Even if it was loose change, I would still never turn a customer away because doing so shows arrogance, ingratitude and poor customer service. How do you think I felt as a loyal customer walking out of her gas station? I felt disgusted with her. I could see if I asked her to count $100 or $1,000 worth of pennies, but it was only $1.50 in change. If finding a place in her register for $1.50 was a problem then she could have made an small effort to find something else to put the change in to keep a loyal customer satisfied. I am not a passerby, I live in the community and I've been a loyal customer for years. I spend at least $100/week at her gas station, that's at least $400/month!!! As far as I'm concerned Steve's Sunoco has just lost a loyal customer.Desired Settlement: Too many businesses nowadays get away with taking their customers for granted and this gas station is no exception. Even though their gas station is convenient for me, my family & I will make every effort to purchase our gas somewhere else. I don't mind travelling a little further and paying a little more to buy gas as long as I feel that I'm valued as customer. Instead of just taking my change, she has now lost a great customer and any other money that I would have spent there. Thanks a lot!!!
