Company kept deposit even though the finance agreement that we wanted was not approved (joint loan with my husband and myself)Only I was approved Detailed Case Information We put a down payment on a truck, which to our understanding was based on whether the financing got approvedI signed the vehicle purchase agreement with sales guy [redacted] ***, clearing asking if we would get the money back if we didn't get approvedHe said yes, you get your money back [redacted] asked if he needed to sign, he said you just need one signatureMy baby was freaking out so [redacted] stepped back and dealt with him as the sales guy took the paperWe were taken over to the finance guy [redacted] to do the credit applicationWe were worried we wouldn't get approved b/c of ***'s poor credit history but we wanted to help build his credit so we wanted him on the loan (yrs of regular payments would obviously help his credit)So we both signed the credit applicationI received a call Monday night from ***

I had a cruze, it ran well minus the engine failure, and lack of support from [redacted] Very tainted history with Chev So the wife and I decided, we would try something different, someone differentAnd we walked into Ford Northstar, passed [redacted] plenty of times when doing errandsFigured why not? Met with this rep Kevin, and realized for my work needs, I needed taller space for the various parts I work withI also needed something reliable, long term use, and able to keep up with the miles I drive easily each year Which landed us to a Ford Escape TitaniumSolid vehicle (seriously, love how it handled the snow in Late January) The sound is amazing, even hooked up a dashcam very easily I haven't had a complaint about it, and even when we had a flat, under warranty they fixed it right up When kevin listened and understood what I needed/liked, we landed the Escape because it had the best of both interestsEnough tork to keep going easily, but plenty of space for those big jobs, or moving events If I had to buy again, I would certainly see him first I strongly recommend choosing Northstar Ford, Especially Kevin, as he really listens to your needs, and gets you what you want and need in lifeVery respectable Thanks! Additional note, When working with Finance for the right plan to make this happen, Mike showed us the maintenance and warranty options, and we jumped right on themThey are a seriously worthwhile investment in the longevity of this vehicleI seriously recommend these options when choosingIt made our investment alot less stressful having support as well for the majority of our needs:)

I arrived at northstar to check their inventory on used vehiclesWhen I found something I liked, the sales person (*** ***) told me that there was a Ford Focus that had just entered the system in EdmontonHe suggested that I give them a deposit to only hold the vehicle while it was transported and inspectedWhen I asked if I would get the deposit back I was told that it would inconvenience the dealership but it could be done, "there's room to back out if you need to"He then offered me an agreement to purchase and told me to simply "sign here", and not having understood or read the page, I signed, and was immediately walked *** to the cash registerI gave my deposit and was taken to financing to fill out more forms of which I did not know the purposeThe next day I was informed that an application for credit was approved and that I had purchased the carAt this time I had found a vehicle that I liked more, and wanted to get my deposit backThe deposit was $and

First off I didn't expect buying a vehicle could or should be this stressful(DEC 10th 2017)My son and I had decided to trade in our two vehicles for one, did research and based on that and my sons personal experience with ford fdecided to take advantage of North Star Ford Calgary's Sunday open hoursWe were greeted by Marko *** Finance Manager who connected us with Kevin *** one of the sales peopleKevin was extremely helpful test drove the Ford fPlatinum Preowned, explained what we wanted to do with our two vehiclesHe put us in touch with Sam *** who took our information and a down payment of 1000$ we were told he would get back to us when financing was in place
Several days passed when we didn't hear back we took it as a sign that we had not qualified, so contacted Kevin *** at Sales to possibly look at other vehicles on the lot since we had already done paperwork thereUpon arriving Kevin had told us that we should go talk to Marko *** because they were still working on the deal, we were then asked if we could put more of a down payment on and my son and I jointly put another 1000$ on the truck( I should mention at this time we were under the impression that we would co own ,since they took both our info, pay slips and personal info)
January 8th we decided to get our money back and cancel the deal since we hadn't heard anything about any steps being taken with vehicleUpon an unexpected arrival at the dealership Marko had informed us financing was in placeWe sat down, agreed on payment amount and was told that there would be no warranty on the truck what so ever, due to the lower payment structure and it being usedFinancing was set up with *** *** we signed the paper work delivery date was supposed to be January 9th but was told they need more timeWhich was no problem, we got the Bill of Sale and all required information to set up the insurance and registration and that was done on January 11th
After getting the registration we took both our trades to the dealership, where we surrendered the vehicles (signed over pink slips) and took possession of the FPlatinum SAlmost weeks later I receive a email from Marko requesting another pay slip( this makes pay slips to date), I sent within minutes and asked why it was needed if financing was already in placeHe replied they needed proof of income, which I thought was very odd, but sent it anyways
January 25th Marko started leaving messages on my phone which I didn't get till I got home from work, tried to phone back times and no answerThe next day January 26th we come home to messages and a few hang ups, these messages where not professional to say the least one saying they need the truck back the next message was saying they got a better interest rate and the third was a threat of sending a repo truckPhoned back as I finished the last message and wanted to know what is going on nothing is making senseMy Son phoned Marko, Marko had told him that they had come up with a better deal and asked when we could come down to the dealership to discussWe said we would leave shortlyWhen we showed up at the dealership we went to Sam's Office and sat down, out of the blue they hit us with a loan agreement with Ford Credit for a Ford Explorer which is currently a service vehicle for the dealershipThe interest rate was lower the term was lower, but the payments where much higher by 150$ bi-weekly we did agree to take a test drive, Sam had asked for the keys to our truck saying he had to move it to another spot, my son gave him the keys, which we never saw again
The Explorer was not acceptable for safety reasons (Long Legs) let alone its condition After a half hour of letting them work something else out they offered a FXTR ,that isn't on the lot and the payments were higherThey tried to get us to sign paperwork sight unseen
After being held, pretty much hostage for hours they said they wouldn't be giving back our keysAsking why this is happening, Marko admitted to screwing up, putting it nicelyAsking how we are getting home, they said they would rent us a car, which they did from *** until the Farrives at the dealership
Our Truck now sits at North Star Ford empty of our contents but with our plate on itWe will be acquiring legal representation, as well as filing charges with the police departmentThe Stress and the callous treatment is not great on my health and they are more than aware of thisNo one should have to put up or go through this
I hope this dealership is an anomaly*** *** *** Our experience with the sales person Kevin *** was awesome! But the deceitful ways of the Financing Deptis totally unacceptable I don't appreciate being lied to or being misl
