I've been in business for 16 years and haven't ever had this type issue before. People tend to get online and complain way more than they praise. The truck in question was one I had bought and during the process I put all my vehicles through, I noticed a noise in the engine mainly after warm up. I have a friend that works at our local Ford dealership that looked at it for me and determined it to be timing chain related. I was afraid based on the Ford trucks reputation that it was the cam phasers. When the mechanic got into the engine he found that someone had already replaced the cam phasers, but the timing chain tensioners and guides needed replaced. I bought every piece of it new including a new oil pump because he said it was right there while he was in there. The mechanic replaced everything in the front of the engine with the exception of the phasers which once again were new. All noises went away and I drove the truck two days before offering it for sale and it ran as good as new. The customer has all the receipts for all work done to the truck including new struts with springs, New brakes (both ends). After this incident, I had consulted with my mechanic and he said that it didn't have any more dirt in the engine than any other one he does on a daily basis and added that some are worse than mine and they turn out okay. I've dealt with cars my entire life and its still hard to predict the outcome of a 90+ thousand mile vehicle, but I sell 200 or so a year and most people come back here and get their car.
