I recently joined Stitch as a dating site and joined the social community forum for the full membership package I was only a member for less than two weeks I live a half hour from a major MACity and found no profiles or activities any closer than several hours awayI would have had to resign myself to a long distance relationship which wasn't my intent Stitch failed to provide local profiles I became actively involved in the Stitch forums, finding them interesting I even started one of my own that was a lot of fun However, the forums are fed by a very small, limited number of contributors I did connect with a few, long distance "friendships" via the forums which were all located out of the USA except oneI really didn't sign up for long distanceI also contributed an idea to improve Stitch which they were in the process of implementing when I leftI was not able to participate in any local activities because there were none stitch leaves it up to the members to organize their own activities It uses its members to grow its business, even to the point of members taking out small advertising to promote Stitch and help build it This was noted recently on the site and a statement to the effect, "imagine if everyone did this." In most businesses any advertising is done directly within the companyStitch, a profit making business, is using its members to volunteer in order to grow its profitsTo me, this is unethical and plays on the emotions and need of senior loneliness I feel it is wrong to do thisThis is not a non-profit organization Imagine the telephone company asking its customers to organize events or encourage customers to advertise to grow their businessMembers, to my knowledge, are not reimbursed for these expenses or their time and energy to coordinate events which help to build membership and adverising for the sole benefit of StitchI deactivated my account because I could not find harmony in a business model that plays in the sympathies and loneliness of its members Stitch needs to do its own marketing and advertising, also promoting of events rather than use its members for self gainthis is not Meet UpStitch did not deliver profiles other than those long distancePerhaps if it can not deliver for a specific area, it needs to advertise, "soon to be in your local area" so the consumer is aware that joining will be limited to long distance profiles and activitiesJust because there may be profiles in one's state doesn't mean they will be localOn the plus side, I feel the Stitch team are responsive and communicate promptly to one's need for assistance and concerns However, it is not the resonsibility of its members to grow a profit making businessStitch will only be as successful as it's members make itIn summary:
I would like to see the ethics of this company improvedI would like to see recruitment of membership be more specific to the areas it can actually serveI would like to see this company build its own business and stop using members to do the work for them If they want to build it off the members, then reorganize into non profit status
This site allows you to sign up, create a profile and post pictures It asks for your birth date during this process At no time does it stop you if you are not Over years old
You enter payment information and send pictures of yourself via iphone/ipad and your licence
Still at no time do they confirm you are over or state you must be over to use this site(I am a female over but just under 50)
You get notification emails from the site about new posts and trips
The next day At 3:pm I get an email that read:
Unfortunately, Stitch is strictly for people years of age and upBecause you are under 50, I am forced to deactivate your accountI am very sorry about this! Please let me know if you have any questions, and very sorry again for any inconvenience

later that day at 8:pm I get a welcome email:

I try to log so I can delete my pictures and change my answers to Deactivated
But When I try to log it it does not work
IT does allow me to try and reset my password and follows up with a reset password email at 8:pm
I choose to hope they are legit and just bad programmers vs the alternative
I would give the highest rating and recommendation for Stitch.***I feel safe on this site and they offer much more than a dating siteThey are a community with integrity
Best dating site ever! I have been a member of Stitch since February, 2016 and have found the experience to be far better than other dating sites. Each time I had a question for the Stitch team, they responded quickly to resolve my question. Each member on the site is verified, so I was confident other Stitchers I interacted with were real members and not scammers like you find on other dating sites. I would highly recommend this site to those who are looking for real relationships instead of hookups. I met the love of my life and know others may have the same luck! I've recommended this site to several friends and they have all signed up as well.

STITCHED has transformed my lifestyle! Two years ago I lost my partner in life. Not sure what life had in store for me. I attended a STITCH event and met a woman who just understood me.
At that event (dinner/movie) she wanted to know everyone's story. I held back - didn't share. A few days later she contacted me - "let's grab drinks". I agreed: what I learned that night we all have stories. I shared mine - I thought I was the only one out there with a "story" - but we all have them.
She is my best friend, I adore her. Yes, many on this site are looking for romance- I found companionship. I have had the romance maybe it will find me again but on a Saturday night it's great to have a best friend too!
