The first time [redacted] had contacted us he was unhappy with his purchase of this Bobcat skid loaderIt was not starting as he felt it shouldHe wanted to figure out why it was not starting good and where all of the leaks were coming fromHe did not want to spend more than $He wanted our opinion on suing the person he purchased the Bobcat skid loader fromHe said it was advertised as in good running conditionHe had someone else working on it to resolve the starting issue and leaks [redacted] was not happy with their workWe checked out the engine starting issuesIt did start hardThis Bobcat skid loader is plus years oldThe engine had a large amount of blow byWhen we tested the engine cranking system we had found that it was working correctThe engine was wore enough that it was causing the starting issueWe ran the machine and checked for leaksWe found a loose hoseTightened up the hose and that leak had stoppedThere were other very small leaks but we did not see anything majorAs we were well over budget for the money he wanted to spend we stopped working on itThis was Wfor the amount of 203.56He had called back one day during work and talked to meHe had stated he was working over in the Green Bay areaHe said that his loader still had a very large leakHe was leaving a trail of oil everywhere he droveThe machine did not leak this bad when it was in our shopIt did not leave a trail of oil though our shopThis was not the main reason he had calledHe was having trouble getting the boom to lift and the bucket to tiltOne of the other people at the job site had moved the loaderAfter that it had not workedHe assumed that the loader was ran low on oil and the pump had stopped workingAfter talking on the phone with him for a while I diagnosed that the auxiliary hydraulics were locked onWhen the auxiliary hydraulics are locked in it dead heads the hydraulic system and prevents the boom and bucket from working correctAfter he released the auxiliary hydraulics everything started working correctHe thanked me for helping him get itgoing over the phoneHe was not happy about the leakI do not recall ever asking him "why would you take it that far without testing it"It does not sound like anything I would have said. After he was done working in the Green Bay area he decided to fix the Bobcat skid loader his selfHe took it apart, and found his major leak that was leaving the trail of oil while he droveHe could not perform the repairs himselfHe brought the loader in on a trailerThe drive control levers were not on the machineHe dropped off the machine on the trailer and left it chained down to the trailerWe moved the entire trailer with the loader on it into the shopWe replaced the blown out O-ring on the drive motorWe also replaced other O-rings as we had to removed different things to repair the leakHe got an estimate on the amount to rebuild the leaking tilt cylinderWe rebuilt the tilt cylinderWe could start the loader to check for leaksBut we could not operate it and check for leaks as we did not have the drive controlsHe did not want to pay for us to install them back onThe repair we made was on a drive motor hoseTo correctly test the drive motor hose it would need to be drivenThis was work order WThe repairs for the drive motor came to be $to rebuild the tilt cylinder was The total bill was 507.54About a month later [redacted] had called and was extremely unhappyHe had reinstalled the levers back on the loader and drove itThe same leak we had repaired was leaking againI told him that anything we had repaired we would fix for freeHe brought the loader back inThis time he had the drive control levers still in the loaderWe quick inspected the loaderIt was leaking from the same O-ring we had repaired on WHe had some other things he wanted repairedHe pointed out that there was a line that had the rubber cracked and was wetHe wanted that line replacedHe wanted the throttle repaired so it would stay in placeHe also wanted to get the seat bar to stay upIt was missing the gas shockI told him we would also cover the labor to remove and re Install the drive control levers due to circumstancesWe found that the O-ring we had installed failedWe reinstalled a new O-ringWe covered all of the labor for this repairIncluding removing the drive control linkage that he had not paid for us to do beforeWe covered $to repair the leakOriginally he had only paid $for this repairThis added amount was from the labor to remove and install the drive control linkageWe were able to drive and correctly test the repairs made After we were able to run and drive the loaderWe found that the hose he wanted replaced was not causing it to get wetThere was oil leaking from fittings and a valve above itWe removed the valve and replaced the O-rings that were causing the hose to get wetReinstalled the valveWe took apart the throttle assembly and found it was rusty and wornCleaned up the throttle assembly and installed a new friction disk and washer, the throttle stayed in placeWe installed a new gas shock to keep the seat bar upThese were all new repairsThat we had not been told to repair beforeFixing these leaks, throttle, and gas shock came to $The shop would cover the $Called [redacted] to let him know that it was finishedHe knew he would have to pay for the new portion of the work performedHe said he was coming in on a Saturday to pick it upI said I would not be here but he could pay for it up at the parts counterHe did come in that Saturday, but he opened the gate, took his machine, and left with it before anyone was here yetI called him the next work week asking him when he was going to pay for the work we had doneHe notified me that he would not be paying for anythingHe said this was all things that should have been taken care of beforeI talked it over with him that we covered all of the labor to repair the leak that came backWe could not test it correctly with out the drive control levers installedHe also said that the seat bar shock did not work at allHe said he put it up and it slammed him in the head as soon as he put it back upI told him that it was a brand newshock, and if it is not working correct or failed it would be covered under Bobcat warranty or we would take it backI told him to bring the loader back and we would take care of any work we had done that was not working correctHe said he would not bring it back and he would not pay anythingI have tried to contact him multiple times after this to resolve the issue, and his voicemail was full and he would not answer his phoneAs I can not get the issue resolved with him without any contact, we sent him a bill for the amount he owes us on the repairs other than the failed leak repair
