Review: I started a payment plan with Stockton Family Chiropractor for a claim that was denied by the car insurance companies. Before starting the payment plan I never received a single phone call from the company demanding payment. The company notified the two adolescents (who were involved in the automobile accident and as a result were receiving chiropractic services) via voicemail that the following day if they didnt hear from us they were filing a small claim in court. It was then that I called the company to find out what we could do about the amount owed. We were in the process of meeting with a trial lawyer so I asked them to hold off and they said no. So, I set up a payment plan for the 24th of every month. I went to the company and allowed them to set up automatic payment on my credit card for $150 to be debited on the 24th. During the month of May, we called the company to change the date to the last day of every month for the remaining payments. They recorded the information down and said this was fine. In May, the company debited my card on May 23rd. One of the adolescents, who is now 18, called the company to find out why they debited the account earlier than the last day of the month. The response was that the front desk person didnt write it down in the appropriate space and there was nothing they could do. So, I being the adult, called the company back. The person responsible for processing payments was very rude, asked me the purpose of my call and told me they were not sending my money back, even though they debited my account earlier than the original agreement. I informed her that I was going to call my bank and dispute the charge because the payment was processed earlier than agreed upon and my account was charged an overdraft fee. I also informed her that if the date I originally schedule falls on a weekend, you are supposed to have a written statement outling when you will process payment. You do not process the payment ahead of time without prior approval. Her response was okay. Later that evening, I had a voicemail from the company stating they would reverse the charge, asked for the date I wanted payments processed from this point on, and would reprocess the payment on May 27th. We called the company and informed them we would send in paper payments and not provide another card on file and they would not accept that arrangement. Instead if we do not give another card, they want to take us to court. This is bad business, illegal and poor customer service. Patients beware when you set up payment plans with this company. They are very rude and do not take ownership for their mistakes.Desired Settlement: Payment plan via check and acknowledge and fix bad business practices.
