Apprisen would like to thank you for the opportunity to respond to the concerns expressed in the statement from Mrs [redacted] She had been participating in a Debt Management Program (DMP) beginning in May As outlined in the enclosed DMP agreement and payment history, we received a deposit of $on May 12, 2016, and disbursed $to the creditor, while collecting a $program sfee and a $monthly fee in accordance with our agreementThe DMP is a completely voluntary program on the part of both our clients and their creditorsOur clients may discontinue the program for any reason at any timeThe creditors we work with are similarly under no obligation to accept to work with us under a DMPWe can make no guarantees that a creditor will work with us under the program, which we clearly disclose in multiple places on our DMP agreement.On May 31, 2016, we were asked by the client to check on the status of the account she was attempting to pay through the DMPAt the time, we had not received a response from the creditor regarding their acceptance of the planWe immediately contacted the creditor, at which point, we were informed that the account had been transferredUpon contacting the new collection agency, Apprisen was advised that the creditor was not going to agree to work with us and that payment we delivered to the creditor would be returned to ApprisenFollowing additional attempts to reach the creditor regarding the return of the payment during the month of June, Apprisen was ultimately informed that the creditor did not apply the payment we sent to the correct accountThe creditor had been attempting to resolve this issue, and advised Apprisen that they had been in regular contact with Mrs [redacted] The creditor informed us that they would return the payment of $directly to Mrs [redacted] as soon as possibleThe circumstances that caused this issue for our client were completely out of Apprisen’s control; however, due to the unfortunate circumstances and difficulty encountered by Mrs [redacted] in her attempts to resolve her financial situation, Apprisen has agreed to refund the $that was paid in service feesThe $refund check was mailed on July 6, When added to the $payment the creditor agreed to refund to the client, this represents the full $refund requested by the client.Sincerely,Brian Y***Manager Compliance and Regulatory AffairsApprisen
