Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The damage occured over a year agoI reported the damage caused by Stone Expo to the Revdex.com, the State Contractor's Board and to his own Insurance Company. I think the fact that his insurance company found in my favor and the State Contractor's Board, after a thorough investigation, issued Stone Expo a citation says a lot about the company and who was at fault, Stone ExpoTo address his points: We contracted with *** to do kitchen work*** From Stone Expo sent HIS plumber to disconnect the dishwasher and faucetWe were given no choice of a plumberIt was one he sent at the beginning of his workHe tried to tell this same thing to the insurance company but then later admitted to them that it was someone HE sentHis crew was at my residence for more than one dayHe took video at the START of the project, but not before they left for the night at the END, after they were working under the sinkWhile working under the sink they were in direct contact with the valve that THEY left onThey should have checked the valve before they left, been more careful, and all the damage could have been avoided*** admitted to the "accident" and I have proof of this in emailsHe knows it was his company's fault, nothing "suspicious" on our partHis own insurance company did a thorough investigation including sending out an engineer to evaluate the valve, and found in our favor, against *** and Stone ExpoYes, I fully agree, it was indeed a significant amount of water, as he claimsThere was so much water from his "accident" that it caused significant water damage to rooms of my home and left us without a kitchen and dining room for well over monthsWe had to hire a company to tear out the dry walls and put up dryers for almost weeks to dry the damage before mold formedSo yes, as he states, based on the extent of the damage he caused, there may have been hundreds of gallons wasted. I must laugh at his comment about the petsReally? I am going to get down on my hands and knees to turn on a valve way in the back of the cabinet under the sink to get water for my pets when I have access to fresh water from the refrigerator water dispenser or the faucets in the bathrooms? Obviously ***, instead of taking responsibility, is making more excusedHe first claimed the valve was faulty, which his own plumber and the investigator from his insurance company confirmed was fine, so now he is trying to blame me and the pets? Ha!I contacted his insurance company and put in a claim when it was clear he was not going to take care of the damage he causedThe fact is, *** caused significant damage to our house through his negligence and instead of doing the right thing, apologizing, and fixing the damage, he bailed on us, leaving us with no useable kitchen, no way to cook or clean, and refused to return calls, emails, faxes, etc. This is unacceptable business practice, and he was held accountable for his damageHe lists the Revdex.com logo on his ads, but checking the web site, he is not Revdex.com accreditedThis is deceptive as well
Regards,
*** ***

Hi [redacted], Please review issues stated by client and reply back to me. 1-The job is completed as contraced, Kitchen side bar countertops are all installed. 2-We supplied and installed our own plywood like we always do every day of the week for  the past 14 years. 3-The Issue...

with cook top cut out was rectified by our installer ( the clients purchased an appliance that bearly fits in his cabinets), nothing to do with our countertop install. 4- The $675 charged, is for supllying and installing plywood, demolition and removale of old countertops and kitchen sink cut out. not just for plywood, he is upset because our crew completed this task in 2 1/2 hours, where all clients are happy about, he cant justify charged price for job done. 5- Our crew was not allowed to work in front of the house , they staged on grass area of the property and washed up after themselves like they always do, if their was excess dust we would have gone back and further cleaned the following day, we could not get a hold of Mr [redacted]. 6- The kohler Hartland faucet diagram , has no monetary value, we used it to drill holes in proper location, its just a diagram that comes with the sink, we will be more then happy to return it to him. 7-there is no carpeting in the kitchen. 8-Mr [redacted] asked for additional countertops not in kitchen or contract, the installers advised him to call office and it would have additional cost. 9-Mr [redacted] dissapeared from the day we left his house, Fax disconected, would not return phone calls, or take any of our calls, first replied by letter after our first letter. 10-He has no complaints about countertop install which he contracted stone expo to perform, our job is emaculate and way above industry standards,  he is just looking for a discount. 11- He was notofied by me and store before project started, that we wont connect any electrical outletts, its on the contract above his signature. 12- Any Issues or concerns should have bin directed to our store emidiatly after Installation, to date he wont answer phone calls, we are ready to place a lean on his property and persue legal action as stated in contract to colect remaning balance, in the 14 years we have bin in business this would be the first time we take such action.  Sincerly,  [redacted]

We had an unexpected accident in our factory which did not help the situation, how ever the project is completed , we have a completion and...

satisfaction form signed from client, and to better rectify the miscommunication and delay we are not charging client for upgrades in the amount of $1250.00

Review: the business did not complete the installation. The business removed 2 1/2 sheets of plywood. Failure to finish the remaining material. Refused to reinstall the electrical receptacles- there is a code violation by such action. Increased cost by interfering with appliance installer. Caused damage to carpeting. Caused the entire front of residence to be covered with white powder. Failure to remove materials which drywall which theyremoved. Entire kitchen, family room and breakfast area had to be vacuum cleaned, and mopped. The cut out were improperly cut causing the screw holes for the receptacles and their plate unable to reconnect.Desired Settlement: I have estimates to make these credits in my possession.

Response:

Hi [redacted],

Review: • [redacted] the owner of the business never gave me a written legal contract. He gave me an estimate which included brief description of the work that he is supposed to do, the amount and payment progress.

• He told me that it will be a 3 week project. Started the project on 8/25 and till date my kitchen is not ready. Entertainment unit cabinets and powder room not even started.

• He has stopped responding to my phone calls and text messages.

• His office has been promising me to finish the project by the end of the week since last 4 weeks.

• His men would come and work for only a couple of hours(3-4) a day and that too not 5 days a week. They say they will be on site at 9-10 and don't show up till noon and leave in 3 hours.

• The quality of work is also not good.

• There is no onsite manager to overlook what the guys are doing.

• [redacted] hasn't come to the site since past 3 weeks. I have requested him to come and take a look because I see a lot of issues with the workmanship but no response.

• I feel like I am the managing the project by giving them end of the day report of what happened today and what needs to happen.

My life has turned upside with no kitchen for the past 8 weeks, 9th week in progress. It’s very difficult for me and my family to function when the house is in this shape, It’s not only an emotional trauma but also affecting my work because my mind is always thinking about if my house will get in order this week or not. Moreover they don't give me the schedule for the week or for the whole project. I don't like being in the dark.Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] to finish the project by the end of this week (10/25) and compensate me for the amount of stress me and my family have gone through because of his failure to deliver the services that he had promised would be delivered in 3 weeks , 9 weeks ago

Review: Stone Expo was hired to refinish kitchen cabinets and replace the counter with granite. They started the work but then they damaged the kitchen and dining room after they negligently left a valve running. The water damage was so severe that cabinets buckled and the dry walls turned into wet walls requiring a mitigation company to come out for weeks trying to dehumidify and dry the walls to prevent mold. The cabinets had to be torn out to open the drywalls. [redacted] (? Sp) from Stone Expo was immediately notified of the damage but has taken absolutely no steps to mitigate or repair the damage. He admitted to the "accident" as he calls it and in multiple emails states he will take care of the damage. However it has been almost 4 months and nothing done! He will not answer calls, emails or faxes. He won't return our cabinet faces but that doesn't matter now because all cabinets have to be replaced now, not rebuilt. It is extremely unprofessional for a contractor to cause significant damage to a house then bail on the homeowner leaving us with no useable kitchen. For 4 months now we have bern forced to eat all meals out since thanks to Stone Expo we gave no kitchen- no sink, no cabinets, a counter that is shored up with plywood, open drywalls, no stove/ oven (which he left outside in the rain!), no faucet, no dishwasher, no microwave. Moreover, the work he did do was sloppy and shoddy. He left stain on the walls, glue on the counter, and left scratches in the cabinets which were supposed to be sanded. We want accountability, pay for all of the damages he caused, and be made whole again with a functional kitchen and dining room.

In addition, Stone Expo advertises that he is Revdex.com accredited, uses your logo on his ads (which I have). But according to your web site Stone Expo is not a Revdex.com accredited business. This sounds like a deceptive or fraudulent advertising practice.Desired Settlement: I want Stone Expo to be held accountable and pay for all damages his crew caused by their negligence. I want to warn others about Stone Expo. Use of Revdex.com logo? If not accredited then it should not be on ads.
