HORRIBLE SERVICE! When planning your special day, the special day of your loved one and a day that an ENTIRE family is supposed to cherish and remember forever, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS VENUE! While the grounds and the venue is beyond beautiful, you will OVER PAY to not get the SERVICE that you deserve with the money you spend. If you email and make arrangements with Ruth, make SURE it is placed in your "contract". Long story short, after 10's of thousands of dollars, this wedding (over 100 people) was left without a single beverage for the last 4 HOURS of the event, because they only "contracted" 4 hours of "open bar". Basically, because this family didnt pay for 8 full hours of alcohol, the entire wedding got ZERO service at all. The bar staff left promptly at 7:30pm and were told no one could bring anything in. Not water, soda, NOTHING. They also cleared out the Bride and Groom houses of all beverages and kept them. The grandmother had her water glass taken from her hands. The concept of what that did to this wedding didn't seem to register to the owners and never once was there an alternative option offered to rectify the situation. I have NEVER in my life seen anyone be treated this poorly nor would I EVER want to see this happen to any other wonderful family's out there. This place and these people are crooks. There are SEVERAL horrible reviews on Stone House of St. Charles, and they have 8 reports filed against them with the BBB. Be wise...there are other pretty places in the area!

[redacted] and [redacted] booked our place with no construction completed. Our project was suppose to be finished in September of 2017. [redacted] PA are building our barn. It is not traditional "stick build construction." Once the [redacted] start the build it will take them...

less than 30 days to completely erect the building. It is a modern day barn raising. Every meeting that I had with [redacted] and [redacted] I only relayed what was being told to me by the [redacted], General Contractor, Architects and Subs, I have never lied to them. There have been numerous delays completely out of my control. I hope they don't think that there is something we have done to delay the progress. We are devastated that the project isn't complete. At our last meeting we gave them three options. They could receive all their money back and get married somewhere else, they could change their date to a date in the future, or they still get married at our place with their reception being under the tent. They decided to have their reception in the tent. We spent in excess of $15,000  out of our own pocket to give them the most beautiful wedding that we could possibly give them. I have all the receipts to prove these charges. In [redacted]'s settlement response she stated they could of rented a tent and had their wedding in their backyard. They could of but they didn't chose to go that route. It would of cost them 5 times what they paid us. [redacted] is now slandering our good name all around town and opening herself up for a libel suit by defaming us on social media. We have not raised our deposit. We have not run out of money. The barn is on site and will be erected 4 days from now. I escorted her grandma to the $2500 a day luxury portable bathroom myself. They spent 16 hours at our place getting ready and taking photos. We set up the entire reception using some of our decorations and some of her decorations.  To rent our tables and chairs for either their backyard or at some other venue would of cost them almost the same amount of money that they gave us for their whole wedding.  We rented the best of everything that we could find, not skimping on anything. We are truly sorry that the construction wasn't finished for them. I only wish that I could of done anything about any of the construction delays. [redacted] and I are good people. It makes me very sad to think that after everything we have both been through that [redacted] and [redacted] think otherwise.
