In response to case #*** very little of this complaint is factual. For starters we do not do any verbal agreements; that is simply not how business is done. The customer filled out a Rental Agreement with multiple signatures and initials stating he acknowledged and agreed to our
policies and procedures. He was then given copies of said agreement. The very first line of the verbiage on our rental agreement clearly states: “RENT: Shall be paid in advance and is not refundable.” The customer was indeed only in the unit for less than one monthAccording to the above stated there would have been no proration back to the customerThey would have been refunded the deposit at the end of the rental period once the final power bill had been received and the rental period had expired; however, instead of waiting for this to happen, we had received several very threatening phone calls from the tenant and the tenant’s wife; she, the tenant’s wife, then arrived at one of our offices and again was very threatening and violent. After demanding that she remove herself from our property, as she was not even our tenant, she slammed our office door so hard that it actually caused damage to our propertyThus, the reason that their deposit is not being refunded.
We have had thousands of customers that have followed the polices agreed to that have received their deposits or refunds back when they were due to them. We have been in business since 1972, and we truly do care about our customers

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Despite the claims made by the company representative in their response to this complaint, there were indeed verbal assurances made by several people that our rent for the less-than-a-month rental could be pro-rated.  But our claim at this time is only  for the refund of the security deposit.  The business is improperly and illegally withholding the security deposit claiming unsubstantiated damages that are, in any case, outside the terms of our rental agreement which only covers the rental space -- not unrelated and unsubtatiated claims at another property. Contracts are not open-ended agreements to cover any and all claims at dissassocited offices and properties.  Damage claims must be substantiated at the rental unit, and the business has never claimed damages to the rental unit covered by the contract.Please refund our security deposit which is being illegally and improperly withheld.Regards,[redacted]
