I currently have 4 storage rooms rented through the Storage Sense facility. Before November 9th 2019 all 4 rooms were paid up and everything was fine. As of midnight 11/9/2019 just ONE of the rooms became delinquent and payment was due only for that one storage room and it is understandable that if payment is overdue you should not be able to gain access to that particular room. This particular facility for some unethical reason would not allow me too access my 3 other storage rooms which were paid up in full at rhe time of incident. How can they even possibly have the right to deny me access to my rooms which are paid in full at anytime??? Plus there was a change in this facilities ownership approximately 4 months ago and they did not let any of their customers know of any changes within or in contract from previous ownership.
I am the Manager at Storage Sense of Endicott. I am reaching out regarding complaint ***. Our Tenant *** reached out to us on 11/18/2019 asking to have a late fee waived for unit *** that was due on 11/9/2019. We explained to him that we have already waived 2 late fees because of some health issues he was facing (10/16/19 $7.00, 11/4/19 $27.90) and that we would not be able to waive any more. Both times the late fees were waived previously we also stated verbally to him that we would not be able to waive anymore. I was out of the office on 11/18 when Mr. called, he said he would call back to speak with me. Mr. then called us back on 11/20 asking to have the late fee waived and again we explained that since we have waived 2 late fees, we would not be able to waive another. He then proceeded to state that he was locked out of all his units. We explained that in the lease Section 13 under Access it does state that if the tenant does have multiple units' .default on one shall constitute default on all. Mr. received 3 new leases for each one of his units that he had during the change of ownership. These new leases were mailed out on 8/27/2019 and stated that the new lease would go in to affect 10/1/2019 to allow for a 30-day notice on all changes.· Mr. additionally received another lease on 10/10/2019 when he rented a new unit, ***. This lease was filled out in person at our facility and emailed to him at his request on 10/10/2019. I have enclosed a copy of one of his leases as an example and have highlighted the area where it states default on units in section 13 under Access. Below I have also included all notes on his 4 units since the take over and/or start of a new contract. Mr. is currently between 11-30 days past due on all 4 units.
