This response is a response from Storie & Sturgill Orthodontics due to the aforementioned complaint from Mrs*** We were unaware of her having any concerns and would be happy to address any concerns she may have about her smileMrs [redacted] started her Invisalign treatment on 8/13/2013, and was offered both braces or Invisalign at her consultationOn 6/3/patient requested that we switch her to traditional braces because after discussing moving forward with an Invisalign refinement or traditional braces, she felt braces would provide a better end result Patient's desires were documented thoroughly in the treatment record as treatment progressedOn 7/8/we placed upper and lower braces on the patient This was done at no additional cost to the patientWe continued treatment, and the patient did not express any concerns during her treatment On 2/17/the patient came in for a regular adjustment and requested the braces be removedAt that appointment, the final details were placed in her wires, so on 3/28/we removed the braces and delivered upper and lower retainersThe patient was asked at this appointment if she was happy with the results and she stated she was very happy with the resultThe end result had ideal esthetics and function: Class I occlusion, ideal alignment, ideal overjet, ideal overbite, and ideal incisal display upon smileWe would provide patient photos to show the before and after, but this would violate HIPAA unless the patient consents We saw the patient on 5/5/and 8/11/for a folland retainer check appointment and the patient never made a comment that she was unhappy with her result At the 8/11/appointment, it was noted that the retainers were fitting tight, which typically means the patient has not been wearing them consistentlyOn 9/28/patient called to cancel a future retainer check appointment, stating it was due to her work schedule We offered to schedule an appointment at the patient's convenience to accommodate her needs, but she was adamant about not reschedulingThere were still no complaints from the patient at this time DrStorie has consistently treated adult patients throughout his career, and more than 15% of the practice is made up of adult patients He has been in practice for over years and completed years of education (college, dental school, and residency programs) Similarly, DrSturgill has consistently treated adult patients throughout his career and has completed the years of education, culminating in bachelor, masters, and two doctorate degrees He is a professor of orthodontics at universities in Virginia and ArizonaThis is the first ever complaint filed towards DrStorie or DrSturgillWe welcome Mrs [redacted] to come in and discuss her concerns at any time

This response is a response from Storie & Sturgill Orthodontics due to the aforementioned complaint from Mrs. [redacted].  We were unaware of her having any concerns and would be happy to address any concerns she may have about her smile. Mrs. [redacted] started her Invisalign treatment on 8/13/2013,...

and was offered both braces or Invisalign at her consultation. On 6/3/2014 patient requested that we switch her to traditional braces because after discussing moving forward with an Invisalign refinement or traditional braces, she felt braces would provide a better end result.  Patient's desires were documented thoroughly in the treatment record as treatment progressed. On 7/8/2014 we placed upper and lower braces on the patient.  This was done at no additional cost to the patient. We continued treatment, and the patient did not express any concerns during her treatment.  On 2/17/2016 the patient came in for a regular adjustment and requested the braces be removed. There were still no complaints from the patient at this time.  Dr. Storie has consistently treated adult patients throughout his career, and more than 15% of the practice is made up of adult patients.  He has been in practice for over 23 years and completed 13 years of education (college, dental school, and residency programs).  Similarly, Dr. Sturgill has consistently treated adult patients throughout his career and has completed the 23 years of education, culminating in bachelor, masters, and two doctorate degrees.  He is a professor of orthodontics at universities in Virginia and Arizona. This is the first ever complaint filed towards Dr. Storie or Dr. Sturgill. We welcome Mrs. [redacted] to come in and discuss her concerns at any time.
