In conclusion, we as an organization, and more important a Baseball Academy strive to work with every child regardless of their skills to play baseball and become a better playerUnfortunately, that mission is complicated by parents such as thisThousands of Players have played for our organization, many of which are playing professional ball and/or received college scholarships that we work very hard for that we are proud of

The Storm has met several times with [redacted] and spent much time explaining the issues. Unfortunately, he committed and according to his statement you sent us “has a signed contract by [redacted]” and has nothing to do with STORM!! This is a contract with [redacted] and his company...NOT Storm! [redacted]...

[redacted] was an independent contractor that did work for Storm. His company is:Name: [redacted]- [redacted]• Address: [redacted]• Social Security number (or ID number if an LLC) [redacted] dealings is with [redacted] and his business. THIS IS NOT STORM!!! His son played travel ball with Storm. That is it! For the record, the Storm has been in business for over 15 years and has NEVER taken a cent from any player or anyone for recruiting. Never! We do hold showcases and seminars with college and pro team scouts and representatives for our players to display their talents and hopefully get scholarships and offers. They are Storm events. We do not and never have charged for recruiting. [redacted] paid [redacted] not Storm!!! Storm has not been paid a penny for recruiting by [redacted]. Evidently, [redacted] made some promises and/or agreements with [redacted] through his recruiting service (see above)…..This is NOT Storm. Never was till [redacted] experienced some problems and he can’t get it resolved with [redacted] and trying to get us to do something about it with threats of legal action and your office! His problem is with [redacted]..Also, we did try on his behalf, as a curtesy to him, the Storm spoke to [redacted] who insisted he fulfilled his obligations. He referred us to an Assistant coach at Farmingdale and we were told by him that [redacted]’s son DID have an offer from Farmingdale and it was HIM that turned it down (not cut as he says). The offer was that he would play home games only and not travel with team. [redacted] and his son declined. At that point we had to step aside.Once again, as I have outlined above [redacted] has NEVER entered into any agreement/contract with Storm regarding recruiting. The Storm has NOT, nor ever accepted any money or fees to recruit [redacted]s son or anyone other player. We are sorry that he has this loss, but it has NOTHING to do with Storm and he needs to pursue it with [redacted] and /or his recruiting Services I provided above. For the record [redacted] is no longer affiliated with Storm as he moved to another organization. Please feel free to contact me with any further information or questions.

Review: My son tried out for a travel baseball team at the 13 year old level. We were promised two away[travelling] tournaments with this team. We were also told of the players who would be on this team, and the amount of games would be between fifty and seventy games. The organization placed 11 and twelve year olds on the team, and a lot of players who had never played before. We only played 27 games, did not travel anywhere, and were totally lied to about the competitive ability of this organization. The boys were never coached, and had not one practice together on a baseball field. Numerous e mails and phone calls have been disregarded, since they already had our money. This had been an ongoing problem with this organization for years, and we were promised that by bringing in new administrators, the organization would make a turn around. After receiving our payment, this organization left an entire team of boys to their own devices, and were ignored. This organization cares nothing for children, delivered not one service that was payed for, left young boys completely embarassed every game, and became completely confrontational with concerned parents.Desired Settlement: For this organization to stop promising services with no intention of providing said service.

Review: “This has been an ongoing problem with this organization for years, and by bringing in new administrators, the organization would make a turn around. “

Response: The complainant has never played for or had anything to do with this organization prior to this summer! The Storm has fielded at least one baseball team for over 25 years, the past 10 years when we became a corporation we have fielded between 12 and 25 spring, Summer and fall teams per year with 12 to 15 players per team…. Don’t know about any ongoing problems he refers to!

Review: “We were told the amount of games would be between fifty and seventy games”

Response: Please see the attached team season Agenda that is handed out to EVERY PARENT IN MAY at the parent team meeting prior to the season starting. It clearly states “The team will be playing NJBL League and this is between 18 and 20 games.” Besides, there is only 63 days between the start of the season (Memorial day) and the end of the Season (August 3rd). Absolutely impossible for a team to even play half of what he claims… especially 13 year olds that are subject to pitch count limits and only having 12 players on the team?????

Review: “We were promised two away (traveling) tournaments with this team.”

Response: Please see the attached team season Agenda that is handed out to EVERY PARENT IN MAY at the parent team meeting prior to the season starting. It clearly states the 4 tournaments and where each one will be. All of them on Long Island. In addition, please see our travel website: [redacted], in which the tournaments for each and every team is posted back in MAY ( and still there) to allow every player to see exactly what they are doing in addition to their league schedule. NONE of these tournaments are listed as out of state. NEVER was this promised or even mentioned.

Review: “The organization placed 11 and 12 year olds on the team who never played before”

Response: Every player tries out for our teams and the roster is built based on age, this was a 13U team that began the 7 month program starting in January and ending in August. The levels for younger players such as 12 year olds play on 75 ft. bases and 11 year old play on 60 ft. bases. Completely different than the 13 year old level.

Review: “We only played 27 games, did not travel anywhere, and where totally lied about the competitive ability of this organization.”

Response: Once again, please see the attached team season Agenda that is handed out to EVERY PARENT IN MAY at the parent team meeting prior to the season starting. Played more games than promise! Did not travel as stated in agenda.. and NO WHERE does it mention, and NEVER does the organization make promises to the ability of its teams. That always is determined on the field.

Review:” The boys were never coached and had not one practice together on a baseball field.”

Response: The program is a 7 month program that started the first week in January and ends the first week in August. The extensive winter training of baseball skills and speed and agility classes is twice a week for 12 weeks starting in January and ended last week in March. The games, tournaments and practices are coached by 2 coaches. Our state of the art, brand new 20,000 sq. ft. facility has 12 batting cages, 2 pitching tunnels and an indoor field. The team practice here at least once a week, sometimes twice weekly. College teams, such as Adelphi University and Hofstra University train here!

Review:” Purchase price $3200.00. Please see the attached payment schedule that EVERY PARENT receives back in November! The players pay $400.00 for the winter workouts and the team fee is $2395. Total paid by this and every player is $2795.00. The exact payments made by complainant are: $400, $798.33, $800.00, $796.67. Total paid is $2795.00!

Review: “Numerous emails and phone calls have been disregarded, since they already have our money.”

This organization is a joke. They know it, and everyone associated with baseball on Long Island knows it. The only competitive ball they play is older age groups, and they dedicate ZERO time or effort to young men striving to become better athletes. Their tunnels and cages were never available to young players. Hitting rubber t bals off of a tee is hardly training. This organization has been running this scam for a long time and I will spread the word as far as I possibly can. Taking your money and writing a lineup is the extent of their involvement. When these young men grow up you can be sure they wont be associated with these crooks, and I'm sure the 'Storm" will be looking for more ignorant families to scam.
