My wife and I purchased a boat at Storm King Marine in December 2014. [redacted] ("[redacted]") was the salesperson. [redacted] made a false statement to us about the boat in December 2014. [redacted] also lied to me in January 2015, and he lied to my wife in February 2015, about the boat's registration. Specifically, in December 2014, I asked [redacted] if the boat had an automatic bilge pump as it is an important feature to me - he said yes it contains an automatic bilge so we have nothing to worry about. We learned that this was inaccurate when we took the boat for a test ride in April 2015 and discovered that it does not have an automatic bilge pump. A service employee told us to install it ourselves. Next, in January 2015, I asked [redacted] when we should expect the title/registration for the boat. He said the [redacted] is handling it and it can take two to three months. He said it was out of his hands. Then, in February of 2015, I called the [redacted] and a clerk at the [redacted] said no boat registration was pending for our boat. At the same time, my wife asked [redacted] to tell her when we would receive the title/registration paperwork, and again he said that the [redacted] is handling it and we should receive it soon. In March of 2015, my wife called [redacted] and told him we did not receive the boat's title and paperwork from the [redacted], nor did the [redacted] have any documentation regarding our boat. Then, [redacted] said he did not submit the paperwork to the [redacted]. [redacted] said that the winter was bad so there weren't many working days in the winter season. He said the paperwork was in a box upstairs at the dealership and he would have someone unlock the box and take the paperwork to the [redacted] immediately. My wife followed up with [redacted] two days after that conversation and asked if someone took the paperwork to the [redacted]. [redacted] replied yes. Three days after that conversation, an employee of Storm King Marine called my wife and said he was on his way to the [redacted] and wanted to confirm our mailing address. We received the final paperwork from the [redacted] less than one week after The Storm Ling Marine employee called my wife. Lastly, when we arrived at the dealership to pick up the boat in April 2015, [redacted] informed us that he misplaced the registration for the boat's trailer. He also stated that the repairs to the boat cover, which we wrote into the contract of sale, were not completed. He said he would have to mail us both the paperwork for the trailer and a new cover. [redacted] told us he would explain after we completed a short test ride in the boat on the water nearby. When we returned from our test ride, [redacted] was no longer at the dealership. [redacted], the [redacted], told us that [redacted] had an appointment and couldn't meet with us. [redacted] said [redacted] could not find the title/registration for the trailer. [redacted] finished the paperwork and said he would follow up on the items [redacted] neglected.
