This past April, 2015, a torrential hail-storm struck Houston and its surrounding suburbs, including Spring, Texas, causing severe damage to many homes. AllState insurance mailed me a check for partial payment to start work on my roof replacement. The check total was $9,806.29. I turned the money over to a Champion Roofing employee, in Houston, on May 26, 2015 and they were to start working on the roof within two weeks, as soon as their current work on several homes was done. Champion Roofing, in turn, gave my money and, I am told, the money of numerous other Houston area customers to Mr. Dan Smith of StormChief in Kentucky. Neither StormChief nor Champion Roofing have replaced my roofing as contracted, but have kept my money and are refusing to pay me back. In my opinion, both are in collusion to defraud, not only the people in Houston, but also disaster victims nation-wide (StormChief appears to have multiple U.S. locations) by signing contracts to repair roof damage then leaving the state/city with the victims' monies.
