TSTORMY’S USED CARSP.O. BOX 448MONTESANO, WA   98563360-482-6444 January 16, 2018    Scott G[redacted] Statement:      [redacted] came in and bought a 2007 Mazda CX-9.  A few hours later, he called me and said that the CX-9 was knocking...

really bad.  I told him to bring it in and we would look at it.  I took the CX-9  to the Ford Dealership next door, as they had recently done some work on the motor.  Upon inspection, it was discovered that the motor was indeed damaged, so the Ford Dealership, that did the work originally, agreed to replace the motor at no cost to the customer.  When the motor was taken out, it was discovered that the transmission was also damaged.  The damage was to such an extent that it did not makes any sense to leave it “AS IS”, when, with the motor out, now was the cheapest and easiest time to replace the transmission.        I bought a transmission from Yakima, WA.  But upon delivery, it was discovered that it had been submerged in salt water, so the Ford Dealership found another transmission.  However, when it showed up, it too, had an unacceptable defect.   The dealership purchased a third transmission that was in excellent condition, so they proceeded with the repairs.  Of course, during this entire process, I was in contact with Mr. [redacted] nearly every day.  I gave him my own personal truck to drive for nearly three weeks, at no charge, even driving into Hoquiam one night to break into it because he had locked the keys in it at a bar.      Two days before Christmas, against the orders of the owner, Stormy G[redacted], I let him use a 2007 Buick LaCrosse from our lot, so Mr. [redacted] and his wife could go Christmas shopping down in Portland, OR.   Mr. [redacted] had promised to bring the car back the next day, yet he kept it for two or more weeks.  During this time, Mr. [redacted] became increasingly unreasonable, often calling me on the phone to yell and belligerently make unreasonable demands of various things that he knew were beyond my control.  In the end, the shop bill for the Mazda repairs was nearly $5400.00, of which I only charged Mr. [redacted] the cost of the transmission that was ultimately installed.  We absorbed the cost of the transmission that was water damaged plus the shipping of ($100.00), plus the shipping on the second transmission, which was also damaged ($200.00).  The cost to Mr. [redacted] was $2000.00 for the cost and installation of the transmission only.  Mr. [redacted]’s complaint is that he only had the Mazda for a few hours, and while this is true, it is also true that he signed a Buyers Guide which clearly states that he was buying the vehicle “AS IS”, meaning there is no warranty provided by Stormy’s Used Cars whatsoever.        I have tried repeatedly to come to an equitable resolution with Mr. [redacted], even offering to unwind the car deal, something very seldom done, and give him back his trade-in, only charging him for the repairs we had done to it, (new windshield, transmission service, oil change and detail), plus some of the cost incurred in the Mazda deal i.e., (license, tax, doc. Fees etc.)  Still, after all this, Mr. [redacted] insists that we absorb all these costs, and yet he has still never even made a single payment on the vehicle.  He is under contract to buy. Sincerely,   Scott *. G[redacted] ell us why here...

The customer had our 1995 Cougar for 2 days before making a commitment. I assume he checked it out during that time. After which we agreed on a price of 2100.00 OTD. They left a 200.00 deposit and on 4/4/2016 wrote a hold check for 1900.00 and took delivery. The check was made good on 4/5/2016. On...

Monday 4/11/2016 the customer called and said he wanted to return the  car for a refund. I was trying to explain that we don't do that. However as I trying to tell him how I could help he cut me off in mid sentence and told me to shut the [redacted] up and listen. At that point I decided helping him at any level was not an option until he would be more polite and reasonable. At closing time on Monday I called his home and left a message to that effect. I would have been more than willing to help him had he been more polite. He did not reply. Pat W[redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The response that was made by pat was not fully true I never got the change to ask to fully explain the situation with the car and my wife even tryed to call all she got was swearing I don't even think pat know she was on the line. We will never do business or send business there. Sincerely, [redacted]

This has been resolved, as of the 24th. I appreciate all your help in this matter.
