Our policy is to cover the initial ground shipping charge for any continental US order. Mr. [redacted]’s order fell under this policy and we shipped his custom order to an address in the US, which he provided to us. We covered these initial shipping costs. Upon receiving this shipment, the correct weight of the order was displayed in plain sight on the exterior of the package.   Once an order is delivered to the intended address and received by the customer, we are not responsible for any further shipping costs. Mr. [redacted] is not rejecting the order or trying to return it, he is asking us to pay for an additional shipping cost, which he encountered when traveling with the items, days after receiving the order. We have received the latest response from Mr. [redacted] and still feel that it is not our responsibility to pay Mr. [redacted]’s airline fee. On July 28, 2015, Mr. [redacted] sent us a picture of his [redacted] ticket, which stated a charge of $100 for “excess bag weight”. I spoke to a representative of the airlines, regarding this issue and she informed me that [redacted] policy states, a fee of $100 will be charged for any checked luggage weighing between 51lbs-70lbs. Mr. [redacted] stated that he originally believed the plates to weigh 54 lbs and was charged because the actual weight was 68 lbs. According to [redacted], Mr. [redacted] would have been charged a fee of $100 regardless of the 14 lbs in question. Previous to this, we had shipped Mr. [redacted]s plates to an address he provided, free of charge. Upon arrival, the package holding the plates for Mr. [redacted] clearly stated the correct weight. It is not our responsibility to pay for any further traveling expenses. [redacted] policy on checked luggage:[redacted]

As I've stated earlier in my correspondence with [redacted], my friend [redacted] was traveling with two suitcases and she was certain that if the weight of each plate would have been nine pounds less,it would have been ok and she would not pay the excess baggage fee.The fact that the actual weight was written on the package when it was delivered wasn't helpful, because it was delivered more than a week after payment and just days before my friend left the States with the plates.I find it rather disappointing that your company has not done anything to take responsibility for it's mistake.

Hello,the problem was that the quoted weight for the plates was 54 pounds.becuase I knew  54 pounds would be fine to transfer by luggage (in 2 suitcases)I went ahead and made the order.my friend discovered the weight was actually 68 pounds before boarding the planesand having to pay an extra 100$ in baggage overweight fees.that 14 pound difference was the mistake of the companyand becuase of that mistake, I had to pay extra fees.had I know the actual weight, I would have bought the thinner,lighter plates and would not have this issue.I believe I should not be held accountable for this company's mistake.Regards,
