Stoughton Tire & Auto Repair, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: On December 10, 2015 my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan was brought to Stoughton Tire & Auto Repair, Inc to have two tires replaced as well as several wheel stubs and nuts replaced. According to the work done, as proven on the service invoice, the front left wheel studs and nuts were replaced.

On January 17, 2016 I was traveling home when the previously mentioned vehicle began to shake. After pulling over on the side of the county highway I was traveling, it was apparent that 4 out of 5 wheel studs on the front left wheel were broken off. This resulting in an unsafe and undriveable vehicle.

The next morning, January 18, 2016, I contacted the previously mentioned business to inform them of what had occurred and that I will be having said vehicle towed to them for repair.

After the repairs were complete, the business presented us with a service invoice indicating the front left wheel studs and nuts were, once again, replaced. The previous invoice was shown to the employee whom claimed that we have had work done to the vehicle since the original repair.

We have not have any other work done to the vehicle.

According to the service invoice given to us, there is a statement on the bottom. This states: "Warranty on parts and labor is 6 months or 6000 miles whichever comes first. Warranty work has to be performed in our shop and cannot exceed the original cost of repair."

According to the statement, there should not have been any charge for the repairs done on January 18, 2016 due to the parts and labor being within the warranty time frame. The original service invoice, dated December 10, 2015, was in the amount of $162.81. The service invoice, dated January 18, 2016, was in the amount of $87.30. This also falling into the parts and labor warranty.

Cost of towing the vehicle to the business was $100.23.

As a consumer, I feel that not only should the business have upholded to its statement of warranty on parts and labor, but they are responsibly for the cost of towing the vehicle due to the initial repair being ineffective.Desired Settlement: Refund on repair costs and cost of towing vehicle.
