Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Aquarion did NOT call me on 11/18/as they claim They did call me yesterday (12/2/2015) afternoon.Aquarion fails to list the number of gallons used and instead focuses solely on my November bills which fluctuate due to number of gallons used and rates The new water meter was installed the end of January The February bill out of days on the old defective water meter.My bills reflect the following:11/10/ - 15,gallons used11/06/ - 26,gallons used11/07/ - 25,gallons used08/12/ - 20,gallons usedAugust - 37,gallons used05/13/ - 12,gallons usedMay - 29,gallons used02/11/ - 39,gallons usedFebruary - 26,gallons usedWater usage in terms of number of gallons has dropped substantially since the installation of the new water meter leading to the conclusion that the old water meter was defective and that I was overcharged for years Conditions at my house have remained steady during the years for this family of two.I request the following from Aquarion: 1) A print out of my water usage and amount charged for the last years; 2) Date when the water meter that was replaced in January was initially installed at my house; and 3) If the water meter that was replaced in January is still available for independent testing Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because:Aquarion did NOT call me on 11/18/2015 as they claim.  They did call me yesterday (12/2/2015) afternoon.Aquarion fails to list the number of gallons used and instead focuses solely on my November bills which fluctuate due to number of gallons used and rates.  The new water meter was installed the end of January 2015.  The February 2015 bill 84 out of 97 days on the old defective water meter.My bills reflect the following:11/10/2015     - 15,000 gallons used11/06/2014     - 26,000 gallons used11/07/2013     - 25,000 gallons used08/12/2015     - 20,000 gallons usedAugust 2014    - 37,000 gallons used05/13/2015     - 12,000 gallons usedMay 2014        - 29,000 gallons used02/11/2015     - 39,000 gallons usedFebruary 2014 - 26,000 gallons usedWater usage in terms of number of gallons has dropped substantially since the installation of the new water meter leading to the conclusion that the old water meter was defective and that I was overcharged for years.  Conditions at my house have remained steady during the years for this family of two.I request the following from Aquarion:  1) A print out of my water usage and amount charged for the last 8 years; 2) Date when the water meter that was replaced in January 2015 was initially installed at my house; and 3) If the water meter that was replaced in January 2015 is still available for independent testing.

Aquarion is required approximately every 12 years to test and replace all meters in customer homes. Mr. [redacted]'s meter was tested and the results indicate that the meter was accurate. When I look at Mr. [redacted]'s bill history, there is seasonal fluctuations during the summer months (where most...

customers use a higher volume of water). When I look at previous years, similar time periods, the usage is very similar and in many instances much lower than the current bill. See history below. In addition, the most recent invoice includes a credit of $5.74 related to a cost sharing credit provided to all customers.

We called Mr. [redacted] on 11/18/15 to review his account and provide him with specific information regarding his complaint - he has not returned our calls.

Rhonda M[redacted], Aquarion's Customer Advocate will contact you today and provide you with the information specifically requested. Our phone records indicate that we have made 2 attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] and we have not received a call back to discuss his concerns. Both calls were made by Rhonda M[redacted]. She can be reached at ###-###-####.
Please note that all meter test results are reported to our regulator, PURA. We will confirm with our Service Dept to verify if the meter is still available. If so, you are more than welcome to have an independent test of the meter.
