Stover Electric, Inc. Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted].   \Invoice Number 3981, page 1 indicates 2 GFI receptables installed, page 2 indicates 1 tamper proof receptacle installed and invoice number 3995 indicates 3 tamper proof receptacles installed. So it sppears to me like a total of 6 were installed, with the possibility of additional ones added off the GFI;s.   Mr. Stover states that he completed the service and two working outlets.    Didn't I pay for 6? [redacted] was never hired to perform electrical work in our garage.  Mr. Stover kept telling us he would send over [redacted] to correct the problems.  [redacted] only fixed the problems with the two outlets that he installed on the house that weren't working.  He never came back to fix the garage outlets/receptacles that were not  working.
Regards,
[redacted]

This is in response to the complaint # [redacted] filed by [redacted] of [redacted], FL. 1)      Complaint: Contractor charged for work not completed.  Response:  This couldn’t be further from the truth.  The customer received an itemized bill of work...

completed to date.  They were NOT billed for any items that were not on the installed on the project.  They were not billed for any time that we were not there working.   2)      Complaint:  Multiple electrical outlets are not working and missing protective covers. Response:  We installed the electrical service to the building and provided two working outlets for the carpenters to work with.  Other people added outlets that don’t work.   3)      Complaint:  Made an incorrect hole in sheet rock. Response:  The neighbor’s decided not to give Mr. [redacted] an easement for their electrical service.  Because of this, the service had to be located on the other side of the building.  We had to install a large bolt through the wall to secure the service.  Central Maine Power would not have hooked up the power unless the service was properly bolted to the side of the garage.   4)      Complaint: Electrical wires hanging out of ceiling/walls. Response:  We installed the electrical service to the garage.  We did not install or leave wires hanging out of the ceiling.  Mr. [redacted] also contacted the local electrical inspector.  He visited the property and commented on the neat, professional wiring to the service.  He could immediately tell that other work to the property was not of the same caliber and likely not the same electrician.  We provided copies of our invoices to the inspector and showed him the work we provided.  I believe the [redacted]’s are on their fourth electrician.   5)      Complaint:  Concern about an electrical fire due to faulty wiring Response:  We installed the electrical service.  The wiring for that is impeccable.  Other work to the property was not done by Stover Electric.   6)      Complaint:  Needs to have an electrician finish the job. Response:  This is true.  We will not return or do any further work for the [redacted]’s.   7)      Complaint:  Stover Electric should refund the money for work not done. Response:  Again, Mr. [redacted] was only billed for work completed, which was October of 2014.  The electrical inspector has copies of our ITEMIZED bills and could clearly see the work completed by Stover Electric.  I have been in business for over twenty years and have never had a single complaint.  I believe the [redacted]’s are on their fourth electrician.   Thank you for the opportunity to respond. Sincerely, [redacted]   Master Electrician713 Back River RoadBoothbay, ME 04537(207) 633-5668www.stoverelectricboothbayme.com

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.  I did not receive the response from the business until today.  I would like let you know that the response does not resolve the issues.  My comments are preceded by ** 1)      Complaint: Contractor charged for work not completed.  Response:  This couldn’t be further from the truth.  The customer received an itemized bill of work completed to date.  They were NOT billed for any items that were not on the installed on the project.  They were not billed for any time that we were not there working. **I didn't say that we were billed for any items that were not on the project.  I am saying that the work that was on the project was not completed.STOVER ELECTRIC RESPONSE: WHEN YOU SAY THE CONTRACTOR CHARGED FOR WORK NOT COMPLETED, THAT IMPLIES YOU WERE CHARGED FOR WORK THAT WASN’T DONE.  YOU WERE CHARGED FOR THE TIME AND MATERIALS FOR THE WORK WE PREFORMED AND NOTHING MORE.  WE WILL NOT BE BACK TO COMPLETE THE WORK ON YOUR GARAGE.  WE COMPLETED THE SERVICE AND TWO WORKING OUTLETS.  YOU CLAIMED WE WERE TOO EXPENSIVE AND HIRED [redacted] (STOVER ELECTRIC’S FORMER EMPLOYEE) TO FINISH THE JOB.    2)      Complaint:  Multiple electrical outlets are not working and missing protective covers. Response:  We installed the electrical service to the building and provided two working outlets for the carpenters to work with.  Other people added outlets that don’t work. **No one other than Stover Electric has worked on the project.STOVER ELECTRIC PROVIDED THE SERVICE TO THE BUILDING.  YOU HIRED [redacted] TO WORK ON THE PROJECT OUTSIDE OF HIS EMPLOYMENT WITH STOVER ELECTRIC. **The hole was done before we had permission.  He should have waited until proper paperwork was approved. WE HAD A JOB SITE MEETING WITH CMP, HOMEOWNERS AND NEIGHBORS.  EVERYONE AGREED TO THE LOCATION OF THE SERVICE.  THEN, THE NEIGHBORS DECIDED NOT TO GIVE YOU THE EASEMENT AND THE SERVICE HAD TO ME MOVED.  CMP SPOTTED A NEW LOCATION AND THAT’S WHERE WE PUT THE SERVICE. **I have pictures of the wires hanging out of the ceiling, hole in wall, uncovered outlets.   I contacted the Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation to complain about his shoddy work.  The inspector, [redacted],  took numerous pictures of the problems of the  work.  There is no way he commented to me on the neat and professional wiring to the service.   He said Mr. Stover was uncooperative.  We sent the inspector copies of correspondence between Mr. Stover and us.  Also, sent him copies of the 2 invoices totaling $2,222.35.  Stover's journeyman, [redacted], was paid $44.00/hr and we were billed for "26" hours of work,     The "master electrician" was paid $52/hr for 2 hours.  Not sure who the master electrician was that worked the 2 hrs.   Mr. [redacted] was unable to get in touch with [redacted].  So he said at this time, he did not have enough information to write up a formal complaint of Mr. Stover.  Mr. [redacted] also indicated that this was not the first complaint they had on Stover Electric.WE MET WITH [redacted] AND HE COMMENTED ON THE NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL WIRING TO THE SERVICE. WE FULLY COOPERATED WITH MR. [redacted].  THIS IS THE FIRST COMPLAINT STOVER ELECTRIC HAS EVER HAD IN OVER TWENTY YEARS OF BUSINESS, SO PLEASE DON’T SLANDER OUR STELLAR REPUTATION BY INSINUATING OTHERWISE.  WE WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE DEPARTMENT HAD THERE BEEN ANY COMPLAINTS.    5)      Complaint:  Concern about an electrical fire due to faulty wiring Response:  We installed the electrical service.  The wiring for that is impeccable.  Other work to the property was not done by Stover Electric. **Wiring is not impeccable!  Outlets don't work.  No one but Stover Electric has worked on the garage. THE WIRING DONE BY STOVER ELECTRIC IS IMPECCABLE.  YOU HIRED [redacted] TO FINISH THE WIRING OUTSIDE OF HIS EMPLOYMENT WITH US. YOU EMAILED US ON FEB 11,2016 STATING YOU TRIED TO GET A HOLD OF [redacted] BUT HE DID NOT REPSPOND.  IF YOU WANTED STOVER ELECTRIC TO FINISH THE WORK, YOU WOULD HAVE CONTACTED US, NOT [redacted]. 6)      Complaint:  Needs to have an electrician finish the job. Response:  This is true.  We will not return or do any further work for the [redacted]’s. **Work that was to be performed by Stover was not done.  I need a electrician that knows what he is doing to fix the problems.  We have not yet contacted another electrician.  Hopefully, there will be no fires from the faulty wiring.  YOU SHOULD CONTACT ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN TO FINISH THE JOB.  WE WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU.   7)      Complaint:  Stover Electric should refund the money for work not done. Response:  Again, Mr. [redacted] was only [redacted]ed for work completed, which was October of 2014.  The electrical inspector has copies of our ITEMIZED [redacted]s and could clearly see the work completed by Stover Electric.  I have been in business for over twenty years and have never had a single complaint.  I believe the [redacted]’s are on their fourth electrician. **First of all, I am not a MR. [redacted].  I am a woman.  Me and my partner, [redacted] contracted Stover electric to do all the electric in our newly built garage.  We have not had anyone else but Stover Electric to work on the electricity in the garage.  Don't know why Mr. Stover is saying we are on our 4th electrician.  We don't even know 4 electricians in Maine!  And, as stated earlier, the State of Maine Electrical Inspector, Office of Licensing and Regstration,. Department of Professional & Financial Regulation, said they have received prior compalints about Stover Electric. ALL OF MY CONTACT WAS WITH [redacted].  I HAVE NEVER MET YOU.  [redacted] CAN BE A MAN OR WOMAN’S NAME.  I DID NOT KNOW YOU WERE A WOMAN.  YOUR PRIOR ELECTRICIAN WARNED ME NOT TO WORK FOR YOU.  YOU HIRED STOVER ELECTRIC, THEN YOU HIRED [redacted]. IF STOVER ELECTRIC EVER HAD A COMPLAINT, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE STATE OF MAINE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR.  WE HAVE NEVER HAD COMPALINT.  WHAT YOU JUST WROTE IS LIBEL. I can provide you with pictures of the shoddy work and copies of the invoices if necessary.  I have copied the inspector, Mr. [redacted] on this email. Regards,[redacted]
