Revdex.com:Please note that the original Revdex.com reply said Revdex.com had not been able to contact the owner.While Strauss Photo Technical Services may wonder why I filed the complaint, it should be no surprise that after not hearing from them for three months, and being unable to contact them by either phone or email, I looked for alternatives to secure the return of my equipment. I finally heard from Strauss on April and retrieved my equipment on April 24. Had Strauss, which was in the process of moving first from the District to *** *** and then to ***, kept me informed or responded to any of my calls or emails, I would not have found it necessary to file the report. I took this action only after repeatedly failing to get any response from them.That being said, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to
complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is completely satisfactory to
me. I would continue to do business with Strauss Photo Technical Services and *** *** and I would give them a qualified recommendation

This is the worst store I have experienced. It's a scam. I dropped off my lens (Cannon 11-55mm 2.8 IS USM) for a repair work with a full payment of $265 on 8/30/14. I had to call them (Strauss Photo Technical Service) so many times trying to find out the repair status, 90% of the time no body is taking the call or I was put on hold forever. I went to the store to find out my lens is till there with no work done at all 2 month later. Finally I gave up and got my lens back on Jan 31, 2015, and no one can gave me the refund in store, the reason is the person in charge of the refund is not available. I emailed them later asking for the refund, since phone call did not help, I got a reply saying a check will be mail out. But I never receive the check. I sent them several other emails again, the reply later was they had to check for their PayPal account which has nothing to do with my payment or refund. Today is 6/15/2015, it's almost 10 month I since the start of the failed service, I have not gotten my refund.

Review: On 2/8 I took my camera lens to Strauss Photo, [redacted] and paid $157.57, in advance, to have it repaired. The representative told me it would be two weeks. I went to pick it up on the appointed day, but was told it was not ready yet. When I arrived home that evening, there was a message waiting for me from Strauss, stating that my lens was ready. I could not get in until the following Friday, but when I went in was told that the message was in error, and the lens was not ready, but would be mailed to me. It was not. Since then, I have contacted them approximately 12 times and have been given a variety of excuses. The most popular is the technician has it, and they do not know where it is.Desired Settlement: I would like my property repaired and returned to me.

Review: Strauss Phototechnical Service accepted my [redacted] on Sept. 30, 2013 to repair the monitor which no longer functioned. I was told I would be contacted within a week. Numerous calls to this location were not answered or were put on a holding pattern. In November of 2013, I went to this place and talked to [redacted] who assured me that the camera was at the repair place and he would let me know the status of repair. I told him I just wanted the camera returned as the rest of it functioned normally, and I could do without the monitor. I have not been able to contact them since. Sometimes their phone is disconnected and other times it works but puts one on endless holding music.Desired Settlement: return my [redacted]..with all its parts even if it is not repaired.

I gave them three pieces of camera equipment (1-[redacted] 300 mm f2.8 lens, 1-[redacted] SB-800 [redacted], 1-[redacted] 70-210 f3.5 lens) over three months ago. I was last able to speak with a representative a little over a month ago. Since then, no one answers the phone; my email has gone unanswered; and I have have to response to my (certified) letter requesting they contact me to arrange delivery or pickup and offering to pay any labor or material charges incurred to date.

I am seeking the return of my equipment, repaired or not.Desired Settlement: Return of equipment.

• 8/8/2014 Spoke with gentleman at Strauss regarding camera. Explained shutter firing problem and that all other functions were working correctly including the mirror lift and shutter opening for cleaning CCD. He advised me to send the camera and lens to them.

• 8/13/2014 Generated letter to accompany camera and lens.

• 8/14/2014 Shipped camera and lens via FEDEX to Strauss.

• 8/18/2014 Fedex confirmed delivery of camera and lens to Strauss. Received by R. C[redacted].

• 8/19/2014 Received invoice from Strauss with 0 balance due.

• 8/20/2014 Talked to lady at Strauss regarding invoice. She said the invoice was a confirmation of receipt of camera and lens. I noted that a memory card was included with the camera. She retrieved the camera and verified there was a memory card in the camera. She told me an estimate would follow in 2 to 3 days.

• 8/25/2014 Called Strauss to check on estimate. Put on hold by phone system for 15 minutes. Gave up waiting.

• 8/27/2014 Called Strauss to check on estimate. Put on hold by phone system. Gave up waiting. Sent email requesting status

• 8/28/2014 Called Strauss to check on estimate. Talked to gentleman. He said that the technician working on the camera was not in and did not know the status. He would check with the technician and get back with me later in the day.

• 9/2/2104 Called Strauss to check on estimate. No answer.

• 9/3/2014 Called Strauss to check on estimate. No answer.

• 9/4/2014 Called Strauss to check on estimate. No answer. Sent email requesting status.

• 9/8/2014 Called Strauss to check on estimate. No answer. Sent email requesting status.Desired Settlement: The absence of my camera system has created many problems for me. I need the repair estimate or my system returned immediately. The biggest issue is the inability to communicate with Strauss Photo by phone or email.
