Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I did not post any posts or responses throughout weeks 1-any of the classes that I did not sign up for nor enrollI also did not authorize anyone to enroll me into any classes/courses creating this ridiculously fraudulent bill of $I was also not admitted as as student as I mentioned in my original complaint; I was in the awaiting basis of admission status at the time of my withdrawal from Strayer UniversityHow does one generate a bill and take courses at Strayer University if they have not made it past the admission processIt's obvious Strayer is running a shady for-profit institution; shamelessly extorting money from applicants whom haven't even been admitted to the University! How is that legal or ethical business practices? Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because:I did not post any posts or responses throughout weeks 1-4 any of the classes that I did not sign up for nor enroll. I also did not authorize anyone to enroll me into any classes/courses creating this ridiculously fraudulent bill of $2370.69. I was also not admitted as as student as I mentioned in my original complaint; I was in the awaiting basis of admission status at the time of my withdrawal from Strayer University. How does one generate a bill and take courses at Strayer University if they have not made it past the admission process. It's obvious Strayer is running a shady for-profit institution; shamelessly extorting money from applicants whom haven't even been admitted to the University! [redacted] [redacted] RE: Complaint ID: [redacted]    Thank you for forwarding Complaint # [redacted] on behalf of [redacted]. Upon further review, Ms. [redacted] was dropped from Winter 2017 courses on January 13, 2017,...

per her request. As stated in the Strayer University Catalog, drops requested after the drop/add deadline (January 9, 2017) are subject to all applicable fees.  As a one-time courtesy, we have removed the drop fee from her account.  If she wishes to re-enroll in the future, she will be required to provide proof of the name listed on her diploma (marriage certificate, approved Divorce Degree, court order for name change, etc.) to satisfy the University’s basis of admission requirements. To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for forwarding case # [redacted] on behalf of Carmelitta P[redacted]. Ms. P[redacted] registered at Strayer University (“Strayer,” “the University”) in the Spring 2015 quarter in HUM112, ACC304 and PHI210 using the Veterans Administration Course/Tuition Certification...

process. Ms. P[redacted] completed the three courses.
Ms. P[redacted]’s tuition costs were covered and paid by the Veterans Administration. The Chapter 33 VA Benefits did not pay Strayer directly for book fees. Students utilizing Chapter 33 may receive a book stipend paid directly to the student from the VA.
Ms. P[redacted] applied for Financial Aid Pell Grant Funding and was issued a Financial Aid Book Voucher. The book voucher authorized you to charge a pre-set (book cost) amount to her account for the purchase of books as she was expected to receive Pell Grant funding in order to cover the cost of the books.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that was processed on January 20, 2015 was selected for verification. She supplied verification documents that were reviewed on March 25, 2015. Ms. P[redacted] was notified by the Strayer University Student Financial Services (SFS) Department that in order to continue the 2014-2015 verification process, she needed to provided additional information and documentation before the end of the term as failure to complete or full withdrawal of classes will result in loss of financial aid eligibility. All balances that may incur at that time will be the student's responsibility.
Because she did not to complete her (14-15) Verification documents before the end of the Spring 15 term, she lost financial aid eligibility for the processing of the PELL Grant for the Spring term.
I have no basis for requesting an adjustment on Ms. P[redacted]’s account at this time. Ms. P[redacted]’s balance was incurred in accordance with University policies. The University considers Ms. P[redacted]’s balance of $[redacted] valid and owing.
I recommend Ms. P[redacted] contact our Business Office at [redacted] or at [redacted] to arrange payment.
Thank you,
Jennifer

As a result, no basis has been presented to suggest reversing Ms. [redacted]’s Winter 2015 enrollment. Please note that per university policy, after four consecutive weeks of nonattendance, Ms. [redacted] was administratively withdrawn from the MAT090 and ENG090 classes. Ms. [redacted] incurred a balance of $77.33 for administrative withdrawal and $10.00 collection fee. The University considers Ms. [redacted]’s outstanding balance of $87.33 to be valid and owing.
