Infinity Energy Audit representing Streamline Enterprises cold called me today offering to provide thermal imaging of my home and an energy assessment for free in the Augusta, MI area. I was interested at first but ended the conversation when the women began the scheduling process and started by asking if I was married and for my wife's name, which I told her was not relevant to the appointment as my wife would be a work. She insisted that both family members/decision makers must be present at the appointment. I told her that made absolutely no sense and politely end the call. I called a Streamline Enterprises, Inc location asking about this policy and they defended it saying it was important for all decision markers to be present because it was a “BIG” financial decision. How do they know it is a “BIG” financial decision before they even look at my home, which is of modern construction and well-sealed and insulated? Even if they felt the result made it prudent to offer an expensive & costly service, are they implying to me and others that they are a high pressure and pushy company that won't give their potential clients time to think over the proposals after they leave the home. The policy makes no sense and should be outlawed/band and it feels unnecessary. Are we to then assume they are NOT a respectable company that gives their potential clients the time and curtesy to think over a "BIG" financial decision. I'm sorry, but to me this whole thing seems like it might be a fishy/phishy financial trap for vulnerable or fully trusting residents.

Mr. Johnson,
We are a 22-year-old well established professional home improvement company providing roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters and covers, insulation, air sealing and energy audits. It is standard industry practice for professional companies to require all decision makers to be present for a free estimate or energy analysis. We provide a lot of information, so it just makes sense to have all present, so the specialist only must explain everything one time and nothing gets lost in translation. We cover a large territory and are only in certain areas for a limited time so making a second free trip back to explain all the details to another person obviously becomes problematic. We certainly respect your opinion regarding the phone conversation you had with our representative, but it becomes clear that you make some huge assumptions and conclusions not based on any facts or actual experience with our company. We employ and support numerous hard-working Michigan tax paying individuals and families so when someone makes unfounded and false accusations regarding our integrity and company, we take that very serious and find them extremely unfair. Consider this information going forward when you take your time to post this type of information publicly.

Sincerely,
Streamline Enterprises

The next time someone you call wants to set up an appointment with only one decision maker present, why don't you just make the appointment without a bunch of fuss and then you maybe won't get negative feedback from potential customers that you've turned off by your policies. I'll have to look back at my review but I didn't say any of it was fact, but rather me questioning what could be the possible motives other than to save your company time and money. However what was fact, is that your representative told me on the phone that both parties had to be present because it was such a BIG financial decision. That's fact, she said BIG financial decision before anything was even looked at in my house. Maybe you guys should rethink how you present your reasonings asking personal questions like marital status and that both parties be present because it just feels suspicious. I'm sorry but that's the way it is. Any reader of my review can decide for themselves whether they want to do business with you. And if anything my review puts them a little on defense so that they slow down and make an educated and pressure free decision should you offer a service that results in a BIG financial decisions. Maybe you're the most upfront trustworthy ethical family-owned business that's nothing but good for the community. However your policies and practices might give the impression being otherwise founded in fact or just initial gut reaction and intuition.

I hired this company in January to install 14" of cellulose insulation in my attic and their Airkrete insulation product in all of my walls. After their first installation visit on January 16 I had to have this company come to my house at least 6 more times to get them to fulfill their contract with me. It took multiple phone calls on my behalf (many of which went unreturned), 2 more visits by their salesman, and 3 more visits by their installation crew, and one appointment to come out that they actually missed completely (yes, they did a no-show), for them to finally lay down enough cellulose in my attic, so that it actually measured 14 inches deep with a tape measure. That made me nervous about how much Airkrete they had actually installed in my walls, so I bought a temperature gun and I checked my walls. Sure enough, I found huge temperature changes indicating heat loss and indicating that my walls had large pockets of missing Airkrete product (everywhere for 2 feet down from all the ceilings and 1 foot up from all the floors), and they also had not installed any Airkrete at all over any of my windows or doors. So, I made them come to my house again and check my walls with their own thermal camera, which visually proved what the temperature gun was reading. At that point, they agreed to come back a 4th time (on March 21) and on that trip they spent an additional 2.5 hours adding more Airkrete product to the walls. I asked them to bring their thermal camera back again, after that installation of Airkrete had cured, and it took them until the last week of April to do that, but on that day the temperatures outside were the same as inside, so using the thermal camera was useless. I wont be able to check my walls again with their thermal gun to see whether or not the walls are now, finally filled until we get colder temps again in late fall. I'm pretty convinced that I'm not the only client they've cheated out of almost 40% of the product their clients contract for. I might be the only one who actually has taken the time to check their work with a thermal camera and catch them in the act. What a great way to make easy money…just leave half the attic and walls empty.

Mrs. Mull,
We can tell that you are very frustrated with the service by our company and we have let you down as a customer and for that we are truly sorry. We strive for a 100% customer satisfaction as do many companies in our industry and because we are all human we fall short of that goal from time to time. We definitely had a struggle on your job with machinery breaking down and sick employees along with not following proper procedures to ensure a complete install. Even with a 96% customer satisfaction rating over the past 20 years, we sometimes have to go back and make sure the procedures we put in place are followed to ensure customer satisfaction and a quality install. These procedures are showing the customer pictures of the job when complete by using a thermal image camera to scan the completed walls before we leave the job along with proper communication from the install team to the customer and to their manager. After reading your review, we realized we need to review our procedures and set higher standards to eliminate preventable problems. As much as we dislike receiving negative reviews, it does help us grow as a company and become more efficient. As many of our customers know, our prices are hard to beat, and our service is usually spot on. We will continue to improve from our mistakes like these. We hope you will find in the future; the benefit of a well-insulated home will outweigh the mishandled install. We are always here to answer any questions and are happy to come back out to complete a thermal image scan of your home. We offer free annual inspections on all our work. Thanks for making us a better company. Please feel free to call anytime to discuss. We have discounted your final bill to at least help offset your extra time off work and for the trouble. Again, we apologize for your experience on this project.

I called for a roofing repair estimate. They were not interested in setting up an appointment to look at my roof unless “my husband” was going to be available. I was appalled. They argued that that they wanted both deciders to be present at the estimate. I have spoken to both men and women who have worked with Streamline before. The men were never asked to have their wives present but the women were. Such a sexist practice!!

Streamline Enterprises Response • Nov 21, 2018

Stephanie,
We are a professional roofing and exterior remodeling company. Our office staff are required to ask for all decision makers to be at an appointment for a major home improvement estimate like a roof regardless of gender. If your husband called for a roof estimate, they would have asked for his spouse to be there. Your statement that we never asked the men for their wife to be there for an estimate is simply not accurate. If someone calls for a $250 gutter repair then both decision makers would obviously not be necessary but a $8,000 roof replacement project, for example, is a major expenditure and usually requires both decision makers in most households. Its unfortunate that you feel offended by our professionalism and feel the need to post negative comments on Facebook and the Revdex.com about our company. A majority of the reputable and professional roofing companies will require that both or all decision makers to be present at a roof estimate. It is our hope that this explanation helps you understand this standard industry practice. Have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving!

Streamline called me and offered a energy efficient home inspection. They stated I would receive $300 in free products for my home. They also stated I would receive a report to give to my energy company telling them what appliances or repairs on my home I had that were energy efficient and they would likely give me a discount if I had any. They said I was eligible for this service once a year. I asked them what their company was selling 3 times but was never told. I even spoke with a manager who confirmed the first persons claims. They just kept stating I would receive these free products and report. The “salesman” showed up and did the inspection and tried to sell me installation. I told him I was not interested. He never mentioned these products or report and when I asked him he said, I’m sorry it’s not $300 worth, it’s just a kit of a few light bulbs and shower head, but I ran out. There is no report. I was upset to say the least that he wasted my time and his time and I was lied too. I even specifically asked them when they called if these free items were light bulbs and shower heads but they wouldn’t say. I was very misguided and this is a bad business practice. I thought consumers should be aware.

Streamline Enterprises Response • May 14, 2018

We are able to trace who spoke to each appointment and the sales person that visited her.

Originally ia spoke with her. The lady was told that she would get a kit that “saved her approximately $300 for the lifetime of the items”. This is a lot different than they are worth $300.

She was asking a lot of questions that a didn’t know the answer to so she was transferred to Tracy where it appears the real problem started. She was told that she would be shown where she would qualify for rebates from her local utility for any energy efficient appliances etc. that she had. I don’t know where Tracy dreamed this up, and it is the first that I have heard of it. Tracy has been retrained, along with all the other telemarketing staff, about what to say and not to say concerning an Energy Audit. We do not now, nor have we ever, had a form that we fill out so that the customer can send it to their utility for rebates. This also has been a training item for the room.

The energy inspection expert (she calls a salesman) has been counseled to correct his attitude when confronted by a homeowner that wants to go on the attack. He’s correct that the kit is not worth $300 but he has been told how to properly address problems with misunderstanding. He certainly could have handled this better and he has been formally counseled on the matter.

We are sincerely sorry for this misunderstanding. Everyone has been retrained and this will not be a problem anymore.

SOMEONE FROM THIS COMPANY WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL TO RESOLVE AN ISSUE THAT AROSE OUT OF THE CONTRACT THAT WAS SIGNED BY MY MOTHER IN LAW WHO IS 87 YEARS OLD. SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS GETTING WINDOWS WITH SHADES INBETWEEN THE WINDOW AND WHEN THEY INSTALLED THEM THEY ARE NOT. SHE PAID $5045.00 FOR 5 WINDOWS SHE IS NOT HAPPY WITH. SOMEONE SHOWED UP AT HER HOME AT 8 AM ON 3-1-18 AND SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF HER AND SHE WROTE THEM A CHECK FOR THE BALANCE. SHE HAS MILD TO MODERATE DIMENTIA AND SHOULD ONLY BE SIGNING CONTRACTS WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT (NOT A KID) PRESENT THAT IS LOOKING OUT FOR HER BEST INTEREST. THIS COMPANY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF AN ELDERLY WOMAN WITH DIMENTIA AND SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF HER FOR NO REASON. THEY HAD MY PHONE NUMBER AND NEVER CALLED. THEY ARE A 0 STAR COMPANY IN MY BOOK

Complaint and Response

Issue 1: Blinds on windows

After completing the install of 5 windows in home Streamline received a phone call days later by her daughter in law stated that was unhappy with the windows because she thought they would have the blinds between the glass. A contract written in the home with a duplicate left with the customer clearly states the quality and style of windows to be installed. No where in said contract is the word “Blinds”.

Issue 2: Collection of monies on 3/1

The salesman Tom that submitted the order for s windows did return to home on March 1 to collect the remaining balance on the job as all work was completed on February 15, 2018.

Issue 3: “Kid” in complaint

It is my understanding that the “kid” in Vicky’s complaint is an adult grandchild.

RESOLUTION:

Streamline always strives to provide excellent service and apologize if you feel we fell short this time. We will be happy to refund $300 of the purchase price of the windows if this helps.

Update:

spoke with Vicky on 3/13/18 @ 1:50 p.m. and came to an agreement that a refund of $300 would be satisfactory.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12714520, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. In no way are we agreeing with how this transaction went down. The home owner is 87 years old and an adult grandson is living in the home with NO responsibility to her other than to take advantage of her. He is not looking out for her interest as the salesperson in this matter. What she thought she was getting and what she got were two very different things. Now, she has to spend even more money putting up window treatments that she thought she had taken care of with the new windows. Your salesperson took advantage of an elderly woman and that is the bottom line. There was NO reason to scare her as she was intent on paying the contract as signed.

hi my name is Caro G, I just had a great experience with a good of guys, they are Drew, Jon and Bryce. They answered all of my questions and they were here when they said they would be here.

Streamline Enterprises Response • Feb 01, 2018

Carol,
Thank you for the kind review and the business. We will pass on to the team. Have a great day!

Streamline's crew (Drew, Jeremy and John) installed Air Krete Insulation in my 130 year old farm house. They worked their back sides off in frigid conditions and did an outstanding job. I was worried about this type of insulation in such an old house, but they took their time and did the job right. The house was noticeably warmer the very next day.

Streamline Enterprises Response • Jan 17, 2018

Michael,
Thank you for the review and the business! I will pass on to our crew. Much appreciated.

Very pleased with Mat who explained all the product options for gutters and gutter covers. Professional and quick with a written estimate. Installers Chris and Chris were very good workers and took care with our plants and landscaping as well as cleaned up very nicely.
Highly recommend this business from start to finish in one week.

Home was to be insulated with air Krete insulation , but was found to have very little is found to be in walls. Have given them two chances to correct the problem. One solution they offered was to have siding added to home at a great cost to me. On April 28, 2017 they said they would send a service crew to my home which I have not seen as of yet.

Mr. Malone,

We have received your complaint letter regarding our Airkrete insulation install and can only assume you submitted this Revdex.com complaint prior to the letter since we already sent our crew to your home on 6-12-17 to inspect our Airkrete install. We removed the newly installed vinyl siding by another contractor, pulled the plugs and inspected all the Airkrete install holes around the perimeter of you home. We showed you in person that every cavity was full of Airkrete insulation. The only missing areas was where new wood was installed during the siding install by the other contractor. When the wood was removed, the Airkrete insulation was also removed. There was Airkrete insulation residue around the cavities of those areas. We installed new Airkrete insulation in those areas. Our crew noted that the vinyl siding was extremely easy to remove due to lack of nails. We recommend having your siding contractor install additional nails to securely fasten the new siding to your home. We have pictures of the cavities full of the Airkrete insulation for our records. You agreed that the cavities were full and that you received a good install. If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office. We consider this matter closed.

Sincerely,

*** Ausel
