Street Dreams Auto Sales Reviews (3)

My daughter and I purchased a vehicle there about three weeks ago. The guys that work there ensured that the vehicle was safe to drive in writing. That was a complete understatement. The car was not street safe by any means. The tires were balled and two of them needed replacing immediately. It was recommended that the vehicle not be driven a long distance without the tires being changed. My wife and daughter went on a drive out of town and the vehicle stalled several times (more than three). The vehicle would not shift so driving down the slopes of [redacted] was very dangerous. The vehicle stalled on the side of the road a few times in the heat of 105 degrees in the shade. It took almost five days to get the vehicle well enough to make the trip back to Reno. The dealer agreed to pay for some of the repairs and kept calling the mechanic where they stalled. The mechanic advised us that the vehicle was "a problem". What should have taken only a one night two day trip ended up being a five night six day nightmare. After some repairs, they finally made it to Reno. My wife is disabled. Her service dog and her had to seek medical care for heat exhaustion, because they could not use the air conditioning. The dealer was well aware that the vehicle was dangerous, but still sold it us. Now it is sitting on the lot of the dealer "fixed" according to Steet Dreams Auto Sales; however they refuse to give it back, unless I and my daughter sign another contract on it, despite the original contract being sound and legal. They offered a lower price and insisted that the bank required a GPS; however there was never any mention of a GPS ever being installed on the vehicle until after the vehicle began to stall out of town. The contract reflects Street Dreams Auto Sales as the creditor. They want to produce another contract so they don't have to go on record as selling a dangerous vehicle to a disabled, elderly person who is also a member of the clergy.Product_Or_Service: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Desired SettlementWe want the vehicle or the down payment refunded and the funds of over $1,000 for tires, lodging, and food, because they were stranded by the dangerous vehicle. Please note my wife sought medical treatment for her and her service dog. She is also severely disabled. Written documentation was provided for them, but disregarded by them. We want the original contract, regardless of the perceived "discount", or a complete reimbursement of said amount. We are not asking for medical reimbursement.Business Response Regarding [redacted] complaint on 8/11. The buyer purchased the vehicle as-is. The tires on the vehicle were not changed after he purchased it so if they were a problem it should have been brought up before the purchase. The vehicle service that we authorized was a replacement of spark plugs, hardly a major issue. The customer was offered the option of returning vehicle and receiving a full refund or reimbursement for repairs and a lower purchase price. The gps was ordered by the financial institution that accepted the customer's credit profile, Street Dreams had no say in that determination. We do not finance vehicles, the bank that chose to finance them determined the amount financed, which was considerably less than the original deal. The accusation that we needed another contract to avoid going 'on record' is ludicrous. The fact that the customer is complaining about paying much less for the vehicle certainly would lead one to wonder about the validity of this entire complaint. We refunded them money only out of good will, we reimbursed them for expenses that we were not in any way required to, we offered to void the whole transaction and when they insisted on purchasing this 'horrible' vehicle we lowered the price and saved them hundreds of dollars. Street Dreams has done more than its part in this transaction, and will do no more.

I purchased a 2004 Chevy 2500hd from this dealer on Nove 19th. At the time of delivery it was noted on the due bill that the instrument cluster would be repaired. After multible phone calls to dealer, I purchased a remanufactored cluster from my local [redacted] Auto Parts Store. I also paid a [redacted] Auto Care repair garage to have it installed. I once again requested the dealer to reimburse me for my cost with no responce.Product_Or_Service: 2004 Chev 2500hdDesired Settlementwould like the total cost of $292.39 refunded to meBusiness Response In his complaint [redacted] neglected to mention that he was told on numerous occasions to please bring his vehicle into Street Dreams for the promised repair. As he was informed at the time of purchase the work needed to be done through the repair facility that originally performed the repair since they warrantied the item. [redacted] chose to use his own source to repair the cluster and thereby void the warranty on the original item. Also on the due bill [redacted] signed, it clearly states all work must be done in our shop so his choice to have the repair done elsewhere was not the fault of Street Dreams.

I bought a 2007 [redacted] from this dealer on July 15, 2014. It was described as a great clean car, high performance, a great deal, and a fun car to drive. Within one hour of driving it off the lot it overheated and broke down. The check engine light came on one hour later and has remained on for the past seven weeks with multiple unsuccessful efforts to correct the problem, the latest being an estimated $600 cleaning of carbon buildup on the valves. In the seven weeks since purchasing the car, it has been to the mechanic shop seven times. It has repair bills approaching $3,000. The mechanic said that the water pump was improperly and crudely repaired so that the leak would not be apparent. It will cost nearly $1000 to replace it. It has a massive oil leak problem which was "washed away" with engine compartment and undercarriage washing. It will cost nearly $500 to repair it. The car has been undriveable for most of the time I have owned the car. The check engine light issue is chronic and obvioulsy was known to the dealer because the car was on the lot for several months.Product_Or_Service: 2007 [redacted] SDesired SettlementThe cost of repairing this car should be reimbursed by the dealer or through a retroactive warranty - the defects in this car were intentionally obscured and hidden.
