Electric Foam 5k Run was promoted as a huge foam party run. In reality, it was nothing but laughable: short track, no organization, and min foam. The event occurred on May 17 2014 at the [redacted] Center in [redacted], WI.Tickets were purchased at 35$ each through [redacted]It was a 5k "Electric Foam" run that was supposed to have food, drinks, vendors, and a huge foam party. "Head to toe" in foam!..... It turns out the whole event was run by a skeleton crew at best, no huge party, insanely low amount of foam, no vendors, no food, some water, barely audible music along the course, and a local DJ with a slim setup. There was no organization to be seen. I can only count 3 people who actually worked there, excluding the DJ who is local to [redacted] and was hired just days before the race. There was one person at check in (associate of [redacted] LLC). I participated in the second wave and there was another person who put the rope up to separate the first and second wave, and dropped the rope to allow for the second wave to move up. After that, I am not sure where he went because there was no other instruction. I later saw him on the back of a Nissan Titan that was seen in the area. I believe the third person is the oragnizer and manager of [redacted] LLS, he was roaming about prior to the race start and was also seen driving the Nissan Titan and checking the water levels of the foam machines, which consisted of a blower and a large barrel (see the scam page for a great picture of it). I also saw one of the guys back the Titan up to an [redacted] pond, and dunk a barrel into the pond. It looked like he was filling it with pond water. I am sure the [redacted] Center didnt know about that either! The DJ, about 40-50yards away, was trying to direct us when to go, but it was a strain to even hear what he was saying. The course itself was laughable at best. It was poorly marked course with 2 foam machines producing less than child birthday/college amounts of foam. You had to literally crawl under them to really get covered by foam. And we did not know until 2/3 through the race, that it was actually supposed to be multiple LAPS. It was just a small loop, less than a mile long, with 2 "foam stations". We had no instruction! So many people left after 1 lap. The race also started about 30mins late. Less than an hour after that, the Electric Foam 5k facebook was blowing up with disappointment. People were demanding refunds and shouting scam! The advertisements were very misleading. Even the promo video looked NOTHING like the actual event! The Electric Foam FB page owners deleted many of the dissatisfied comments from their main page by yesterday. Deleting comments just further cements guilt in my opinion. So many disgruntled [redacted] runners left messages in the other cities future event pages to make sure everyone was aware of this scam. And I believe, right now, the entire Official Electric Foam 5K FB page has been taken down, no doubt due to the negative publicity and so many people seeing the truth. There are many pictures on the Scam group site that was started. I also have some on my camera. There was a Electric Foam Scam page started to collect information from the other runners involved.Desired SettlementThis business should issue refund to all participants of the [redacted] Electric Foam 5K run. The business should also be barred from producing any events of this nature, in any state, issuing refunds to anyone in any other location that already paid for any event organized by [redacted] LLC.Business Response Dear Customer,Thank you for contacting [redacted] Customer Support. Was promised a refund for a run that I purchased after the company filed Bankruptcy. I have not received the refund. The company filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy the week before the [redacted] that I had purchased. They said on their website that they would issue refunds for the 5K. I never received a refund and the run never took place. I am owed $38.09 for the ticket I purchased on 5/19/2014 for the run in Raleigh, NC. The run was cancelled after the company filed bankruptcy. The company said they would refund our purchase price; however, I was never refunded the $38.09 that I was charged for. They also did not notify the participants of the run that it was cancelled and that they had filed for bankruptcy. If I had not looked at their website, I would not have known any of this information.Desired SettlementI am seeking a refund of the $38.09 that I am owed on either the card that was charged, or by a check sent through the mail.

The race in Cary, NC was cancelled, the company filed bankruptcy. The Electric Foam 5K Run as it happened in NO WAY compared to what was advertised on-line in both text, pictures and even a live video. After seeing an ad on the Electric Foam 5K Run on-line, I purchased 2 tickets for a total of $76.18. The ad made the event look wildly fun and extravagant. In reality--while the ad said "Come hungry! Come thirsty!" We'll have many vendors--there were absolutely none. The organizers never got a permit for the event so they were not allowed to have us run the coarse as advertised, but instead had us run in a circle 3 times that said they thought was about 5K. Part of this "coarse" was through an unmowed field where a turned ankle was a definite possibility. The ad showed video of people up to their necks frolicking in foam all over--there were 2 bubble machines set on card tables with a fan blowing the bubbles on you as you ran by. The ad showed a huge stage with a fantastic light show for the after race party--there was a tiny table set up for a lame DJ with nothing else so everyone just left in disgust a soon as they finished. Some people, seeing the ridiculous loop left before the race even started. Things were so poorly organized that the "race" started more than 30 minutes late and even then, people weren't sure where to start or when to go.Desired SettlementWe are seeking $76.18--the price we paid as registration fee for my wife and me.
