Streeter's Taxidermy and Wildlife Art Reviews (1)

In response to a letter we received from youlyour organization, ID # ***, we offer the belowinformation to better clarify the issue and the misinformation/miscommunication that has occurred. In response to Kenneth's statement that I told him that his mount would be completed by a certain
date-this is not a correct statement that he is making, as I don't promise dates, I may say I will try to get itdone around a time, but never guarantee it (he implies I said it would be done by tax season, which isactually April, not February)In this type of business, it is impossible to give an exact date as completiondates vary daily and annuany based on the quantity of mounts brought into the shop in any given year.Because this is an unknown number, a completion date is not possibleThat said, we typically offer aone year turn around on most mounts and that is posted on a sign in our shop, but it also comes with anexplanation that it is no guarantee given the nature of the businessOur business is solely based onquantity of customers, and timingof mounts cominginWe have never promised a due date, not forChristmas, not for a wedding or any other eventIt is just impossible to do so as we operate on theprinciple of first work in, is first work completed. This brings us to another complaint of Kenneth's, which I believe is a due to his fiance misunderstandingwhat was trying to be coveeyed to her. She stated in their complaint a concern that "that heworks with perishable items so they come first even if they come in after contracted animals alreadytaken ..."What he didn't seem to understand is that when a perishable mount comes in, it must bedealt with immediately - the prep workThe mount does not get completed before work currently inthe shop and it does not get put above older work, but it does need to get handled and skinned andthen either sent to the tannery or placed in the freezer (depending on the mount) or it will be ruined. This is the way it is done by anyone in my professionThis cannot wait, so during the deer seasoncrunch, other work does go on hold as the perishable mounts are preppedThen I return to my regularcustomer workI believe they think the other person's work jumps in line ahead of theirs, this is nottrue. In response to the fiances phone calls, she made a couple of calls in one part of a day, (which I wasunable to answer the phone at that time as I was in medical appointments) and one other call earlier. And yes, I did have a vacation booked a year in advance, and their duck just couldn't be completedbefore my planned vacation without rushing and risk ruining the mountI am not willing to ruin or cutcomers on any mount.I take absolute pride in the quality of my work as it is my advertising, and myimage that goes out for the world to seeI do not rush this process or skimp on quality in the essence ofnmeI operate on giving my clients the best quality they deserve and have come to expect. In response to their seeking a discount, I do not see how this would be a valid requestI am still doingmy best work, with my best products and not cutting cornersThe price I charge is indicative of the costof materials and time spent on the mountMissing an estimated completion date does not change thecost of the materials or my time (though there are ways to cut the quality of the materials and do lesscoats of paint - but the product will not look as good and I was not under the impression that thiscustomer was interested in a lower quality mount).I am deeply sorry that Kenneth is dissatisfiedI expect that he will at least be satisfied with hiscompleted wood duckI also take offense to his implication of an attitude of "sucks to be you I do whatI do" as I would never say that nor imply that to a customerI did, however, offer to give him his duckback if he did not want to pay the price to have it completed. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach me at ###-###-####In closing, I would liketo add that I have been in business for over years and have never had a complaint to the Revdex.com or anyother organization and that it saddens me that one person might tarnish my reputation, or leave anegative impact with the Revdex.com, instead of the 30+ years of happy customers who don't take the time tosendposinve comments to fhe Revdex.comBy publishing this one person's opininion is slanted towards mybusiness as there aren't the many positive comments to offset this and to let clients know that otherpeople are, and have been, very happy with my business
