Strickland's Repair Reviews (1)

This company performed work to my Diesel pick up when I was having a no start issue. I gave the company permission to tow my truck and diagnose the problem why it was not starting. Company never contacted me with the issue for the reason my truck was not starting they instead worked on the truck. I never received a call about an estimate I never seen the old parts taken out of the truck to see if they were in fact bad they took my parts and changed them out for new ones without my permission. According to North Carolina Law regarding vehicle repairs I should have received an estimate and should have seen the parts that were declared "faulty" I should have also been asked if I wanted them to perform the work or if I wanted to do the work myself. They never called me I called them after they had my truck for a week and they said it was done. When I got the truck home 15 minutes later the truck would not start again and I took it to another shop and there was debris in my base engine oil pump that destroyed the pump. So now I have to spend more money to replace the pump and have the truck put back together. Two of the parts Strickland's replaced were covered under warranty and I had to pay for those parts again at full price through them instead of taking them back and getting them switched out.Product_Or_Service: Vehicle repairOrder_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI gave Strickland's permission for the tow and diagnostic so they can keep that money but I want a refund on all work and parts that I paid for. The total amount was $980 I am asking for $780 to be refunded for not abiding the North Carolina Law. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: (910)[redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]To Whom This May Concern, In response to this claim, the truck was first off towed into our business and driven out. We diagnosed the truck and found the head completely blown out of the #3 injector. We replaced the injector, the rail plug, and standpipe tube. We always replace the other two parts (rail plug & Standpipe) on any 6.0 that comes into our shop due to the high failure rate of these parts even if they were replaced during a previous repair. The customer was happy with the repair and bill upon leaving our shop. After arriving home he called back really defensive that we did not repair the truck properly. I told him I would tow it and repair it free of charge if it was the #3 injector, rail plug, or standpipe that failed. If it was not one of the parts we installed that failed and caused the second no start he would be responsible for the towing and diagnostic charges. The customer was not willing to allow us to do this because of the likelihood that additional charges would result. Reading his response he did indeed have another part fail to cause this no start once driven home. We can't warranty parts that we did not replace. Furthermore I don't know of may shops that warranty truck repairs with oversize tires and power boosting chips (not street legal). At Strickland's Repair, LLC we pride ourselves in quality diesel and auto repair. We have been in business since July 2005 and currently do $500,000 of 6.0 diesel engine repair annually. If we were such a bad repair facility the Revdex.com would have heard of us long before now. As far as his claim of not being presented an estimate before the repair was completed. We attempted to call the customer and did not get him and he seemed to be in a hurry for the repair before an upcoming deployment. We repaired the vehicle without a exact estimate but several scenarios were discussed with him prior to towing in and he was aware of a large repair bill. We stand behind our Repair of the #3 fuel injector and if it fails within the 12month/12,000mi warranty we will repair it. The vehicle was towed in and driven out and the customer was completely happy with our service and paid the bill without question. If there was an issue with estimate or repair he would have not driven it home or paid the bill in full. There are two sides to every story I have presented ours.Sincerely, [redacted]President, Strickland's Repair, LLC
