Revdex.com:
I have reviewed Stroniders response to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. If Mr.St[redacted] still has the offer for me paying $[redacted] for remanufactured engine, I accept. The complaint was filed when I was told that nothing else could be done. By the time St[redacted] offered the remanufactured engine the letter had been already sent. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [email protected].

Review: We asked at least twice for a [redacted] before purchasing this vehicle. We did not get one. I later purchased one and found out the vehicle had been re-posessed. Had I known this in the beginning, I would not have purchased the vehicle. I took the vehicle in for service because of a bad squeeking in the rear. They told me it was due to loose suspension bolts. Two days later, it went back again for the same problem, it was the spring this time. I asked that the headlights be adjusted. They were out of adjustment so bad that it was obvious. They adjusted them and made them worse. I spoke about this with service and they stated that they would let me sit in the truck and they would adjust the headlights to my satisfaction. I did not want that. I wanted them right. I took it to an independent garage today and spent $31.45 to get it done right. They confirmed that the lights were out of adjustment. I just don't understand how a truck with only 19,509 miles could have these problems. I also don't understand how a reputable dealer could imply that I was the second owner. I don't believe that I was actually told that, but I do know that my wife and I both were led to believe that. So far, I am out about $72.00 for the headlight adjustment and car-fax. I will probably have to take the vehicle to a frame shop to get the suspension checked to make sure that the repairs were done correctly.Desired Settlement: This is a really pretty truck. Knowing now that it was reposessed, I wonder if it was properly maintained before I got it. Being misled about the previous owner(s) and requesting and not getting a [redacted] was just not right. I was promised a [redacted], but the salesperson just kept putting it off. I think that the dealership should supply me with a loaner vehicle and go over this truck and make sure that it is what they told me I was buying. I also think that they should provide an extended warranty at no cost to me. If they are unwilling to do that, they should purchase the vehicle back and give me everything that I put into it including payments.

Response:

[redacted]

After this ccomplaint I have had my equipment checked by our supervising[redacted], and he found our headlight aiming equipment to be operating properly. It is a reasonably it proof system, I am sure of this as I can actually perform this. [redacted] came in and complained of improper headlight aim and it was done for him free of charge even though this adjustment was not covered by warranty( No good deed goes unpunished). The second time he came in almost 45 days later he vociferously indicated they were still not correct, again checked to find they were within standards. The headlight standard is for both beams to intersect a the proscibed point. He called after this point and used what could politely be described as harsh verbage. He was told that if he would come in and sit in the vehicle we would aim it to suit him. He did not come back.

As to his suspension noise, there was a repair bulletin with a procedure to lube spring components. When this failed to fix it, my service manager then replace the spring assembly. Standing on the bumper and shifting your weight up and down would reproduce his noise, after the replacement it was not there.

[redacted], the salesperson who sold the car would march into the [redacted] office and retrieve a [redacted] for any customer that asked, have seen her do it often enough. Being a repossesed car does not negate the value or quality of the truck, as it had low mileage, plenty of warranty still on it, and to use his words, it was a "pretty truck".

Any disclosure required in the normal course of business was made.
