Struck & Irwin Fence, Inc. Reviews (2)

I have no idea where to even start with Struck and Irwin. Other than the sales guy this company is a mess. My fence was originally installed and it was crooked and about 6 inches off the ground with concrete smeared all over the posts, broken landscape lights, huge chunks of dirt left in the yard. Not only did they have to come back once but twice and re dig post holes because they could not install a fence correctly. After the install was complete I had two different colors in the fence panels which had to be replaced because the install technicians could not see they installed two different colors and not to mention that gate was installed backwards.
My fence has been in for less than a year and the other day we had a wind storm and one entire section of my fence blew away. I noticed that the clips that hold the top rail on the fence in place were missing which caused the fence to come apart in the wind and blow away. I contacted the supervisor and he initially told me that it was wind damage. Not until I brought his attention to the fact the fence was not installed correctly did they agree to fix it. The section of the fence that blew away was replaced however 3 panels are different colors and they refuse to install the correct panels because they are not spending any money to fix a fence that was not installed correctly.
I highly recommend not using Struck and Irwin. They do not want to stand behind the product they sell nor do they want to stand behind the instillation. They will find any reason not to fix something. Your money is better spent elsewhere as they are not the cheapest in the market but as I thought buy spending a little more it quality of service would be better but not so much.

I am giving this company 2 stars, despite the fact that their installers do good work and we have a nice fence- it's just not quite what we wanted. The negative review is based off of our experience with the "planning process" (in quotes because this process did not seem to take place at all. The estimator (actually a salesman) and the contractor we had both used a lot of jargon and did not explain our options (e.g. fence boards facing in or out, what to do about trees and stumps in the way, how the gate should be installed). They then made assumptions about how we wanted some of these things.Overall, the people we worked with were very uncommunicative. I had to repeatedly call to get things scheduled (they were supposed to call me) and set up a "walk through" (which was a joke- and we were not actually notified when they showed up so again missed out on the planning process). They did do a good job of correcting the problems as best they could, but were unapologetic about the communication issues. Overall- decent work, just make sure you communicate with them, be ready for some frustration related to communication on their end (probably depending on who you work with), and check in with their awesome installers to make sure they have the correct info about what you want!
