First off we have a beautiful home but the customer service issues and so called “deed restrictions” are a big problem. Initially the microwave went out and it took them a month to replace it after fielding 30 calls It finally got replaced only after telling them I’ll buy my own and send you the bill secondly the front door is falling apart and it has been 4 months since they have known the issue and all we get is give us more time. We have huge cracks in our driveway,garage and patio they’re response is that’s how concrete is in Texas. They’re so called deed restrictions which are suppose to help protect your neighborhood from misfortunes of other neighbors is basically worthless. We have a neighbor with a broken down surburban in their backyard with the front end torn off that is a eyesore to our 315k house and after meeting with The owner and his associate from Structured building group twice and texting him on several occasions I was told that it’s not his problem. We are very disappointed in the customer service after the purchase of the house and the warranty work.
If you buy from this builder do not expect quick response of any issues and especially the deed restrictions are worthless you could have a salvage yard living next to you and the builder will not enforce any restrictions of the deed.
If we would have known it was going to be this hard of a process to get warranty work completed and the deed restrictions enforced we wouldn’t have bought from them.
We are so sorry to hear of the frustration caused by the warranty process. We are working on implementing software to help speed up our current process to try to expedite items as quickly as possible. There are times when we have to hold the manufactures of products accountable and unfortunately their process of getting items covered/replaced is very time consuming and not always the quickest. The item that was remaining of the last meeting was the front door of which we had been waiting on the manufacturer on. After that meeting we made the decision to order a new door at our own expense and not wait on the manufacturers due to their delay. If this door was malfunctioning at the time of inspection we would have immediately purchased the new door without hesitation. It was upon inspection that it was noticed to be more of an aesthetic issue then it was a function issue in which we were trying to keep the manufacturer accountable to resolve this issue. We strive to put the best product we can on each of our projects. We have always taken care of warranty items as they come about but I do know the frustration with the process and that is why we are working on a solution with implementing new software and we look forward to providing better service for all of our customers. Concerning the deed restrictions they are generated to create a common grounds for the neighbors to abide by. These restriction are put in place so that those that are within the restriction have the right to uphold the restrictions. Without the restrictions then those living around would have no right to uphold these restriction. If there is a desire to have more stringent rules there is always the opportunity for the majority of the development to create a home owners association.
