STS Guns Reviews (3)

As stated the complainant purchased a new caliber semi-automatic hand gun. At the time of the sale it was explained to her that caliber “semi-automatic” guns may have cycling problems using standard velocity ammunition especially until they are “broken in”. We recommended high
velocity ammo especially for the first several hundred rounds. She chose to purchase standard velocity ammo. Sometime later she came into the store and spoke with a sales person asking him what we would buy the gun back for. I appraised the used gun and offered her $cash or $as a trade in. It was only then that she advised me that she wanted a full refund and explained the problems with the gun. I once again asked her about the ammo used and explained that semi-automatic calibers need high velocity ammo to function. She would not accept any explanation and insisted the gun was defective (which it may be). I explained to her that the product was warranted by the manufacturer and we would be glad to send it back to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. She would not accept any of our help and immediately started threatening to ruin my business by any means at her disposal. She left the store yelling that she was a senior citizen and we were taking advantage of her. Within an hour we started receiving threatening phone calls from blocked numbers. The threats varied from damaging my building to physical threats on our employees. I next received an inquiry from a local television investigative reporter, that I responded to and had no further contact. The proper procedure for her complaint is to return the gun to be evaluated by the manufacturer Gun and ammunition sales are highly regulated by A.T.Fand D.O.J.. They cannot be returned to the store like a loaf of bread. Although it is not our responsibility to return the gun to the manufacturer, I still offer that service to her free of charge.STS GUNS

I am rejecting this response because: In a nutshell the man who owns the store and wrote this message to you is not being truthful My initial message to you is what actually occurred.I will have no further contact with this business

Review: I am a Senior Citizen (70) who wanted a handgun for home protection. I bought a NEW unused Walther 22LR gun from STS Guns in Folsom and I paid $348.95. I also bought ammunition for the gun that STS told me to purchase for around $39. I could have purchased the gun for less in Sacramento, but as I like to support our local businesses, I made the purchase at STS Guns.Today I took the gun to the gun club to shoot for the first time. The gun did not work properly. The range master tried several times to shoot the gun to no avail. He said that it was not cycling correctly, it was misfeeding and failing to battery. He wrote a note for me to give to STS Guns as to the above.I went directly to STS Guns, gave them the information and asked for a refund. They refused to refund my money. They said they did not know the gun was a defective when they sold it to me. They told me they could send it to the manufacturer for repairs or they could refund me $150 of the $348 I originally paid for the gun or offer $160 for a trade in. I told them that good customer service should be to refund me the full price I paid for the defective gun and then THEY could send the gun back to the manufacturer for their money back. They told me, this is the way it is in the gun business. My expectations in buying a new gun was not that it was defective and going to need repair. I would not feel safe using a gun that had to have been repaired. When I bought the gun I wasnt told, this gun might not work I was told this is an excellent gun.I dont think this is good customer service one expects from a local business. I would like a full refund.Desired Settlement: I would like to take the gun back to STS and be given a full refund for the gun, the lock box and the ammunition that they sold me.
