Mr. [redacted] ordered the wrong type of door during my remodel but refuses to refund my money or finish the job and won't return my calls or texts.I hired SHR&C to do a remodel of a home I purchased in early July 2016. Everything was fine until I began to complain about my newly sheet rocked ceiling that had more lumps in it than a school parking lot. After multiple complaints, he sent a crew over to attempt to fix it. After 6 separate attempts, it has improved, but is still substandard. Although he tried to make it right (even offering to repaint it), I'm still left with a shoddy ceiling that has visible seems throughout my downstairs. The final straw was when we received delivery of our french door we had him order. We told Mr. [redacted] that we wanted an inward swing, left hand primary doors. What he ordered was an outward swing, right hand primary door. Initially, he insisted that the delivered door was what we told him we wanted, but fortunately, I had the text message where I told him what we wanted. After being confronted with the evidence, he told me he'd contact the company he ordered from and swap it out. After not hearing from him, I contacted the company directly to try and resolve the problem, but they informed me that they couldn't do anything for me since he ordered it. I contacted Mr. [redacted] and said I wanted him to come remove this door (sitting in the middle of my home, leaning against our back door) and that I wanted a refund. I had realized that he was just stringing me along, throwing random workers at my home to placate me when I'd complain, but he rarely cared enough to come look at the work being done to see that it wasn't up to standard. After telling him I would no longer be utilizing him to finish the project, he essentially broke communication with me and refuses to remove his door, complete any work, refund my money for the door, or answer any correspondence. Unfortunately, I did the one thing that every says you never do. I paid a General Contractor in advance of complete work. Mr. [redacted] took my 16,000 dollars and left me with incomplete work and doors I didn't want.Desired SettlementI would like a full refund for the purchase price of the door that he incorrectly ordered.I would like him to remove this bulky door from my home before it falls on one of my children.I would like a prorated refund for the unfinished trim work through the downstairs, the unfinished trim in the laundry room (since the plumber never returned with the pieces as promised), and a partial refund for the shoddy ceiling work that I'll have to have redone.Since the complaint was filed, Mr.[redacted] purchased the correct door for my home, installed it, removed the incorrect door, and installed the trim around it. Although he did not address the ceiling or laundry room, I consider our transaction complete.
