Studebaker Parts & Services Reviews (4)

This service we offer to locate and procure rare New Old Stock antique automobile parts that are no longer generally available was what he was usingThat was why it took weeks to locate the parts he wantedI have over hours labor into locating these parts using the contacts I have after doing this for over yearsYes he returned alot of parts but not my labor and timeHe may put little value on his time but I do value mineThis was a complaint from a relatively new businessWhen I asked another business to spend their time doing research and locating an obsolete part for me I do expect to pay them and I will not return the parts even if I do not in the end use themIf I returned parts after someone spent their time and money I would expect they would never do it for me againUnless the Revdex.com has any problems with what I have done this will be my last response

He has to accept the fact that is part of doing business These things will happen, people will return parts and that's life Again, according to MA state law he has to notify/post a return policy None of his invoices and none of the conversations indicated a restock fee Again, I will be expecting my 20% to be refunded If, this is satisfied soon, I will be contacting the Attorney Generals office of MA and filing a complaint with them

Back in November we were requested to locate and supply a large assortment of antique automobile parts for a 1948 Studebaker Champion. A 68 year old vehicle from an obsolete automobile manufacturer. These parts are generally not available and I explained that we should be able to locate and supply...

most of them. he wanted them as soon as possible so I started looking for parts immediately. to make it alittle more difficult he also stated that he wanted only Original Studebaker Parts or at a minimum quality USA manufactured parts. No off shore manufactured parts. That limits us from supplying reproduction parts. Al, parts shipped met his requested criteria. Though he did point out that American made original equipment bearings were more expensive than ones available at auto parts stores that come from Japan, China or Korea. But he told us to supply only NOS or American made. We do this service for many restoration Shops and customers in Europe, Australia and other Countries. Having made contacts all over since we supply just Studebaker and Avanti automobile parts. These are not stocked easily available parts. We had to locate them, purchase them and have them shipped in to us from various places. We located and purchased parts in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Indiana, California, South Carolina , AZ and Canada. This took many hours of our time and lots of phone calls. he purchased 2894.94 in parts. We had purchased other parts on his list but he cancelled them before we shipped them leaving us stuck with them. He did return 811.40 of the parts we had sent in addition to the ones he cancelled after we bought them and had shipped in. He did inform me that he was going to return a lot of parts. Never asking if I would take them back or what any return policy was. I would rather take back the special ordered parts rather than have him toss them away as they are hard to find rare parts. I believe that a 20% restocking fee is reasonable on special ordered parts as I had to spend lots of my time and money to locate and ship in the parts. Thank you

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. .
I have read the response from the business.  It is correct except that nothing was ever stated about a restock fee.  Yes, I did mention several times that I would be returning parts and all [redacted] said was ok.  Nothing else.  If I had known about the restock fee there wouldn't be an issue.  According to MA state law it is an unfair and deceptive business practice not to disclose return/refund policies.  Here is an excerpt from the law:940 CMR 3.14.4Refunds, Return and Cancellation Privileges. It is unfair and deceptive trade practice: (a) To fail to clearly and conspicuously disclose to a buyer, prior to the consummation of a transaction, the exact nature and extent of the seller's refund, return, or cancellation policy; (b) Tomisrepresentthenatureandtermsoftheseller'srefund, return, orcancellationpolicy; (c) To fail to perform any promises made to a buyer in connection with the refund, return, or cancellation privileges. Part of owning a business is there will be returns and cancelations.  That is the way a retail business goes.  I do business with several venders when I order parts for specific vehicles and all the vendors do disclose any policy when it comes to refunds/returns.  It is stated on an invoice or website.  His policy isn't stated anywhere. At this time, I am still waiting for the 20% to be refunded.  According to the state law, what he did is unfair and deceptive trade practices.  Regards,
[redacted]
