They agreed to provide a service and get my student loan payments lowered and then did not do it, nor did they communicate it to me.
4/16/19 I spoke with *** about my student loans. He promised my payments would be around *** for 10 years and the rest would be forgiven. I gave him estimates of my income and other information. He then had me speak with *** in the processing department to finalize my documents and information. I sent them via email while on the phone proof of my income. At the end of the conversation I was told I would pay *** for three months and then my *** payments would begin via automatic withdrawal from my account. 6/3/19 I received an email from *** stating I would receive a letter from Dept of Education saying my income driven plan had been approved. 6/14 Another email stating my plan had been accepted by great lakes. She also asked for my login information for great lakes. In neither email did she state that my income driven plan was *** not the original agreed upon *** In May, June & July they drafted from my bank account *** each month. During this time I was understanding that was going toward my student loan and their fee. In august there was no draft so I emailed to see what was going on, *** response was I needed to pay Great Lakes. This was NEVER explained to me. 8/22 I left a message for *** on her line and never got a call back. I tried calling several times to (XXX) XXX-XXXX and got a message no one was available to answer and to leave a message. I also called the number I had written down for *** (XXX) XXX-XXXX. This number was unavailable to take calls. I called back again and got the same message. Then I called (XXX) XXX-XXXX that I found on their webpage and *** answered. When I questioned my account and why I was not notified that I needed to pay great lakes or the amount of the payment she became very defense and began yelling at me that I lied about my income (when in fact I sent them proof of my income at the initial processing). When I asked to talk to a supervisor she repeatedly told me she was the manager and there was no one above her except the owner and he does not take client calls. I asked for a refund of the money they took from me as they did not do what they stated initially nor did they communicate it to me that things had changed. I asked what I needed to do to just be done with them and have nothing to do with them anymore and she stated I have not been a client since June. I continued to ask to speak to a supervisor in order to handle this with out me getting the Revdex.com involved and she said she was the manager. She said go ahead and make a complaint we will deal with them. I said there are other people that you have done this to as well. She said she didn't care. She did not care what I had to say, nor to try and resolve the situation. She was very rude, and yelled at me through out the entire conversation and then hung up on me.

Desired Outcome

They did not do what they said they would do to get my student loan payments lowered and then forgiven. I have since worked it out with my student loan agency, and changed my passwords *** information for*** and the *** as they had that information. I would like a refund for the money that was drafted from my account for the so called "service" they provided. Three withdrawals of *** totaling

We're sorry that you feel this way. Your file has been reviewed. Unfortunately, some of the statements made are false. We did return your initial call when you called Processing at *** and a voicemail was left by *** from her direct line which is how you were able to reach her directly. We did review your initial call with your enrollment specialist, *** to confirm how he relayed the program and the process. He did very well explain that the program is an income based program and your student loan payment is based on your income. He explained that the 3 payments of $274 would be automatically withdrawn, not your student loan payment. You confirmed your income to be*** during the initial enrollment call and during the compliance call which is why you were pre-qualified for a $171 payment. But based on the proof of income that was submitted, the income is actually ***, close to *** which would explain the increase of the payment that the Department of Education approved. In the service agreement signed, it goes over the fact that the quotes are not guaranteed. Simply because we are going based off of what the client is stating the income to be. We did submit the file, and the client was approved based on her actual income. An approval email was sent out, in the email was the approval letter from*** with details regarding her approval. The call with the Processing manager *** was listened to and the call was disconnected after constant profanity was used by the client. *** was trying to explain the program and the process but the client only demanded her money back after services were rendered. Unfortunately the client did falsify her income which caused the payment to increase and this was also trying to be relayed to the client but she seemed very upset and the proper information was not able to be relayed. We understand getting approved for a higher payment can be frustrating and we are willing to re-submit the file with updated income information if clients income has decreased in order to get clients payment recalculated.

Revdex.com
1. Do you record he calls? How were you able to review it? It never says the calls will be recorded.
2. *** was rude, unprofessional, using profanity and yelling at me. I don't recall using profanity but it was a natural reaction to raise my voice and become angrier in response to her unprofessionalism and blatant disregard for customer service. She even stated she didn't care if I made a complaint.
3. I understand I gave an estimate of my income based on my contract from the previous year and I said that in the initial call with ***. However once I spoke with *** and she had my proof of income she could have let me know there would be a change in the payment. I completely understand the process. My frustration comes from the fact that there was absolutely no communication with me once things were figured out and that the payment would not be the same. As well as no one ever told me I needed to work with*** to make the actual payment.
4. I have screen shots of all the phone calls I made to various numbers that were never answered. Yes *** called and left me a message at a previous time regarding another question earlier in the process. Once things were complete on your end and you "had done your part" no one wanted to answer the phone anymore. I'm sure because you had my money and flat out didn't care anymore.
5. Overall there is no concern for your reputation or your customers. I'm sure I am not the only one who has had such an awful and infuriating experience, but I am also not one to just sit back and do nothing.

Student Debt Advocates Response • Sep 30, 2019

1. The contract was fulfilled completely. All quotes were recorded and fulfilled according to initial information client gave. Because the client was not accurate in their information, there was a change in the IBR plan. That is beyond the companies control.

2. The client has made numerous false accusations in an attempt to get money from the company including the statement they 'negotiated' the IBR themselves. This has already been addressed and is 100% false.

3. We wish the client luck moving forward on their own. We are always available to resolve the situation in good faith, but not under a pretense of false accusations of wrong doing erroneously made in an attempt to extort a refund after receiving all services requested and contracted.

Obviously this is going no where. You did not save me hundreds of dollars. I had to call and negotiate with*** myself to get the payment reduced. In fact my account became past due because of your lack of communication. It is not fair that companies like yourself are allowed to treat people like this repeatedly.

Student Debt Advocates/*** using Edebitdirect retrieved a total *** for debt relief with student loan.
In February 2019 I had a call from Student Debt Advocates offering their services. On agreed terms they would help process documents and payments and pay*** student debt loan;remaining debt would be forgiven over a period of time, also they would clean my bad credit reporting from said account. My name, address,SS#,DOB, personal bank account was asked so they could retrieve monies periodically. Contract was e-signed through email and on 2/26/19-*** ck #*** X/22/19-*** ck#*** X/23/19-*** ck#*** X/22/19-*** ck#*** X/21/19-*** ck#*** X/24/19-*** ck#***. On July I called*** to check balance only to find out nothing had been paid. I started to look for contract and emails would not show Edebitdirect Service/ *** only last 2 emails where payment was processed I do have email history pic but could not access anything I looked through entire year and nothing, also contacted through email 8/1/2019 requesting refund and only got a automated response email they would contact me within 2 days. Have not heard anything since.I am extremely concerned and scared to do any further contact since they have my personal info.

Desired Outcome

We do apologize for any misunderstandings. The initial enrollment call was reviewed to ensure that no misleading information was provided and there was none.
We are a document Processing company preparing documents on behalf of student loan borrowers to ensure that they are properly enrolled in the IDR under the lowest repayment plan in order to receive the maximum loan discharge over the period of time, as you stated.
We do not promise to pay the loan, at all, what so ever, because that is not what we are doing - that false information was not provided during the initial enrollment call
We are not a credit repair company, we do not fix credit, but if the loans are in default/delinquent, we do bring the loans back to good standings, which we did do because the loans were delinquent. We explain that although the payment will be $0, it is still considered a payment which the DOE will be reporting each month to the credit bureau that the loans are in good standings, in repayment and on time each month, which does impact the credit in a positive way which is 100% true
At the time of enrollment, *** was unemployed, therefor she qualified for a reduced payment of $0/MO
-*** enrolled 02/21/2019 and by 03/21/2019 services were fully rendered.
Client is enrolled in the IDR under the ICR repayment plan and was approved for a $0 payment as quoted/promised.
Client has paid her full enrollment fee and decided to opt into the $39 membership for us to handle 2020 recertification
Client has been in no contact with out company since the day that she enrolled
We attempted the welcome call twice on 02/22 and 02/25 and left voicemails
Once her first payment cleared, her file was submitted upfront as promised
Once we received her approval, we reached out a few times, no answers, left voicemails
Upon receiving this complaint, we did reach out to the client by phone, no answer, a voicemail was left. We would definitely like to get the issue resolved, but we are a service based company, the service has been rendered - everything that was discussed during the initial enrollment call was fulfilled.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't accept their response as truthful. Its mentioned about an "initial call", the first person I spoke with did say to take advantage of the Obama loan forgiveness, that I still had time. That if I would enroll with in time of giving payments the loan would not have to be paid in full, that the rest would be forgiven. That is the main reason why I opted to enroll! As mentioned I was unemployed and that money was the last of my savings. Why would I pay them all that money and then the $39.00 every month so they could just process paperwork for a loan that I would in time still had to fully repay. In that case I would just pay that money towards repaying my debt and do the processing myself. Also I cannot access contract and did send an email on 8/1/2019 and only received automated response someone would get in contact with me with in a day or two, not until I made complaint did *** try to reach me by phone on 8/23/19 saying it was about the complain with Revdex.com but at this point I do not trust them and wish to only do so in writing, to make sure what they do not mislead or twist things. Furthermore they knew I had a student loan, and in a of their online advertisements they have a A rated with Revdex.com.

Student Debt Advocates Response • Sep 10, 2019

Again, we do apologize that the client feels this way, but everything that was discussed during the initial enrollment call was fulfilled. After the enrollment call is a compliance call discussing the enrollment, the fees, the program, a full recap of who we are, what we do and what, and what the client is paying for and who the fees are payable to, simply to ensure that the company and client are on the same page as far as what our services intell. Just like every service that we as people pay for, we always have the choice of attempting to do it ourselves before we pay a professional. Our services have been completed rendered and the client has received the $0 payment on a fixed term, whatever remaining balance is left at the end of the term will be discharged so there is a very very high chance that there will be a large balance left that will be discharged as long as the borrower re-certifies each year to remain in the program, under a reduced monthly payment.
As stated before, the client has never reached out to us or answered our phone calls since the day that she enrolled, so when we did receive this compliant, naturally we did reach out to resolve this matter. It sounds like the client needs a verbal recap to better understand the benefits of enrollment with us. We are here from 9 AM - 5PM Pacific standard time, Monday - Friday at *** when the client is ready to speak to us regarding the specifics of her file, her loan balance, her estimated discharge amount etc.

No this case is not resolved. I'm just extremely dissatisfied with Student Debt Advocate not only are they misleading people but also unprofessional.

Student Debt Advocates Response • Oct 02, 2019

Client has not provided honest information. At every turn we have had to disprove the inaccurate information she has provided in her attempt to slander the company. We have nothing to add. This complaint should be closed due to the client's clear attempts to extort a refund for no reason whatsoever.

After examining email received from student debt advocates on August 28, 2019 link forwarded to website (www.studentdebtadvocates.org) where it mentions about student debt forgiveness, "Get signed-up now! Time is running out to enroll into and take advantage of the Obama Student Loan Forgiveness Programs"and after the payment term the remaining balance of the loans are forgiven" which now they claim they had no part of said discussion. I also called and had no response left a voicemail leaving my email and requesting copy of contract. (have a recording)since I wish to communicate via writing because they are misleading and twist things around.

surely saw the list of disclaimers which appear as a pop-up when you visit our website stating these programs are available for free through the Dept. Of Education and that payments are only guaranteed for 1 year at a time, and that after the term of the program only then does forgiveness apply to the entire unpaid balance of the loan.

***, you wrote in your last response the exact thing you are saying was not told to you!

'and after the payment term the remaining balance of the loans are forgiven'

EXACTLY! AFTER THE PAYMENT TERM. TERM IS 10-20 YEARS. IT IS ON OUR WEBSITE AND OUR CONTRACTS!!!

Further, the client has not address her mistake when alleging we have an 'A' rating posted with the Revdex.com posted on our website, which of course we do not.

At every turn *** fails to address her false allegations and instead moves on to new ones. She was provided a copy of her contract automatically through the E-Sign software used which is still likely in her email. Further it has been sent to her after her initial signing.

Customer Response • Oct 26, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My initial and foremost claim has been that Student Debt Advocate are deceiving and did not comply to what was said upon me paying the full $798.99.(***) The "term 10-20" was not explained, specified or mentioned. In fact nothing was said initially about paying $39 per month for re certification! They withdrew it for the month of May, June and July.***

Regarding my "mistake" addressing the rating, I simply and specifically put where I found the pictures as to state how Student Debt Advocates delusive impressions are.

And as far as my request for a copy of a contract, I have a right to request for one. In fact I would greatly appreciate if attached in response.

I do not appreciate to be patronized as to what is or isn't in my email. I assure you it is not there and cannot explain as how an even initial emails have disappeared without me even deleting or moving them. Having to go to an extend in contacting yahoo to find said emails.

This issues has not only cost me monetarily but I feel in distress in how cheated and cleverly
misinformed I was taken for.

The company lied and said they could get my student loans taken care of for one payment of *** (which was paid) and then $0 payments after, in the process I started being garnished and instead of telling me that there will now be a fee, they continue on. When I advise that I can't afford a payment as I am barely making it pay check to pay check with the garnishment as well as home bills, 'the manager *** became very rude screaming 'you can't pay *** you mean to tell me you can't pay *** Apparently not if I have them taking out my of check already, I have car issues as well as health issues I can't even take care of so where am I going to get that money from? Very unprofessional, as well very fraudulent, and does not listen. They also breached the contract that I signed.
Product_Or_Service: Student debt relief

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) My refund of *** needs to be refunded as services paid for were not rendered, the contract stated I would have $0 payments after the payment I made any changes should've been updated on the contract as well as spoken to the customer.

Ms. Holomon signed up for services initially in order to get help with her student loans through Dept. Of Education programs regarding her defaulted loans in October 2018. At that time she was informed that her loans must be brought into good standing in order to stop the wage and tax garnishment the Dept. Of Education was pursuing to recoup her unpaid loans. It was explained verbally and in writing that the process is called the Rehabilitation program and takes 9-10 months to complete and that wage garnishment will stop after 3-6 months of being enrolled in this program, and the full 9-10 months to stop the tax garnishment. It was also explained that she would have to make $5/month payments to the Dept. Of Education's collection agency Action Financial Services LLC in order to prove she could make payments again. As stated, this is because Ms. Holomon had not paid her student loans in many months and is normal procedure for the Dept. Of Education in those circumstances.

Once Ms. Holomon was approved for this program (which took many months to collect documents from her and then negotiate on her bahalf with a poorly staffed collections agency) she then asked for a refund stating she didn't want to make the $5/month payments to the Dept. Of Education in order to bring her loans out of default. Because she waited until the services of her contract were fulfilled we cannot offer any kind of refund. However we have provided all of the info for her to take the next steps and begin making her payments to bring her loans out of default. We have also told her we would be happy to help her with these steps as well as pursuing additional IBR programs available through the Dept. Of Education once her loans are out of default, free of charge. We have not received correspondence since then.

Attached are emails and notes of phone calls which provide details and proof of the above.

Services were not given that were told would be.
In October of 2018, I contacted this company about reducing my student loan debt. They took all of my employment information, household size etc and told me that if I paid them 266.33 in October, December and January that my student loans would be reduces to 15$ a month based on my income. My student loans are due and there are no notes of this company contacting the department of education about this at all. Nothing has been done on my behalf. I would like a refund of the 798.99 paid to them. I am an LPN, mother of 4 boys and am single. I can not afford to give people this kind of money without services being rendered. My bank will not let me use my fraud protection either because the billing was so long ago. Very disappointed that people are out there preying on the weak and vulnerable populations.

Desired Outcome

I would like the 789.99$ back that I paid to this company for doing NOTHING.

The Processing Manager reached out to the client to discuss her concerns and her file. There was a miscommunication with the client in regards to her forwarding all correspondence that she receives during the process. The client's consolidation was approved and the second part of the process was in a pending status. After discussing the file and realizing that services were rendered, the client agreed to remove/mark this compliant as resolved.

Customer Response • May 21, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Miscommunication caused this complaint and it was handled by the company.

Misinformed debt Collection Practices and legal practices to collect a Student Loan debt.
Wages were garnished January of 2019 in the amount $545 per pay period. Spoke to Company Rep. known as *** February 1, 2019 and it was explained that to bring Loan out of default with the DOE, I need to make 5 paymnets. I signed a contract for 3-$*** payment February 5th, 6th, and 7th, 1 payment in March, 1 payment in April and the Garnisment will be lifted with a nominal amount of $5.00 to be collected throught November of 2019. Now contacted by Representative *** who informed me I need to pay $421, after doing a Financial assessment and there will be 9 payments through January of 2020. In addition to that, the wage Garnisment will continue for 5 of the 9 payments. At this point, I fear what will come next and feel this Organization is practicing illegal practices by baiting people with misinformation. I am now considering finding a pert time job to handle these payments. So much for the "Loan Rehabilitation Program". This program is life altering.

Desired Outcome

A revision of my monthly payment in leiu of giving me mis-information because the wage Garnisment will continue as well.

This issue has been addressed and resolved. The Processing Manager reached out to the client and discussed the client's concerns. After reviewing the file and recapping of the program, we were able to work out a solution regarding client's concern that she is satisfied with.

Company negotiated a partial return of my processing fee and collected additional information I was not aware I could give, reassessed the monthly payment amount to a more reasonable amount.

In the month of August 2019 I contacted student debt Advocates to consolidate my loans so that I would be able to make payments I paid $700 for them to get this process started nothing was done myloans we're not fixed a shout into default and we just started getting garnished. They promised that I would set up a payment arrangement and have a zero payment which I qualify for. My lenders advised me that they would do all this for free this is a scam and they have not returned my $700 to me

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like my money returned to me in full the total amount was $700
