Although Student Loan Guidance prides itself on providing 'world-class' customer service, we do acknowledge mistakes were made on this consultation.
The representative did give an initial approval into a hardship repayment program for Mrs. [redacted], but after further review by the management team, she unfortunately did not qualify based upon the criteria set by the Department of Education, not Student Loan Service.  After this was explained to Mrs. [redacted], she became understandably upset.  We extended an apology and also explained to her why she did not fall into the criteria of being in a financial hardship with the Department of Education.  Student Loan Guidance has no control over this criteria as it is set by the Department of Education for what is considered a financial hardship.  We also explained that her information would not be stored in our database and how to access our Privacy Policy on our website.
Again, our sincerest apologies to the [redacted] family and the Student Loan Guidance team wishes them nothing but the best for their future.

Review: I got a phone call from this business, with the woman stating that she could help lower my monthly payments on my student loans. I gave her all of my personal information: social security number, my work information, license number, birthday, all of my husbands information as well, including his work information, personal information, etc. She also asked me for my pin number to review my FAFSA. She said I would be making a payment of $495.00 as a consolidation fee, so that the business could consolidate my student loans into one loan. She then proceeded to say that my monthly payment would be $71.00 a month for my student loans & that I would still be paying through the Dept. of Education. So after an hour & a half on the phone giving all of my personal information, I had a question regarding the total on the paper I was about to sign with all of my information on it & she said she was going to have me talk to her supervisor. I did not catch his name, but after looking over my information, he said that I did not qualify for student loan guidance/ forgiveness because my husband & I made too much money & that "the household income does not have any hardship." As a company who is suppose to be a second-party or a third-party & is trying to help reduce your monthly payment, why judge someone based on their monthly income & reiterate that their is no financial hardship? They have no idea what other factors are involved to make that assumption. As I had him on speaker phone, he said this several times, as my husband also listened, & was very rude to me! This was no way for a business to treat someone! They had me so excited to lower my monthly payment, took all of my personal information, then in a second, told me I did not qualify. I'm also hoping they did not run my credit, because I did not give them authorization to do so. I think that this business needs to be investigated because the supervisor told me they are an accredited through the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: They wasted an hour & a half of my time, away from my family. I did not authorize for my credit to be pulled, if it was. They invaded my privacy with no intention of helping me. I want all of my banking information, personal information, my husbands information, my family, friends, & work information respected & to remain private. I also want a letter of verification to validate my wishes of privacy & that my credit was not pulled.

Review: On July 1, 2014, at 12:04 pm, I called Student Loan Guidance at 1-855-404-3248. I spoke with [redacted] (who eventually told me his direct numbers are 855-415-8466 ext 4323) and he asked me to give him my social security numbers. I hesitated to do so but he said he cannot help me resolve my student loan problems if I do not do so. After I did, I told him the circumstances re loans - that the loans were actually for my daughter and that I had to sign for them as she was not 18 when I enrolled her in culinary school; that I had been paying since 2009 and at my current medical condition, I am having a difficult time to keep up with payments. He even mentioned something about the William D. Ford act, which wasn't explained well.

Three weeks have passed, and calling the numbers he gave, I always got a recording. I wrote a letter to the company's management (via their web site) on July 11, and a [redacted] left a message on my phone on the 14th. I returned that call, but I also got a recording.

Today, I called the main numbers( ...3248) and was told that Mr. [redacted] no longer works for the company and they couldn't help me. The person I talked with, [redacted] said they cannot access my loans. I called Mr. [redacted]'s numbers too, but, still got a recording.

I am afraid that they just wanted to know my social security numbers and are scamming people. A month of trying to find out from Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] about how I can reduce my payments to the Department of Education has amounted to a dead end. (I have been paying almost $300.00 per month).

I feel that my efforts at improving my credit score, by paying the loans for my daughter's education, has put me in a direr situation by falling into this company's scam.Desired Settlement: I am afraid this company is preying on people who are in the same position as I. And by taking our social security numbers under the guise of helping, we are put in a worse situation where they could be using said numbers for their financial gain.

I need to find out if this is a legitimate business and an apology from the CEO. An assurance that my social security numbers were not used to purchase anything or have been used for nefarious purposes.

That the Revdex.com stop organizations like this that take advantage of people in need.
