Review: This company promises to renegotiate one's student loan and, if one is low income, to arrange for income based repayment with the new lender. THEY DO NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO.What they actually do is charge you money, then renegotiate your loan at a higher interest rate. They do NOT negotiate the income based repayment plan, and when confronted with this they deny everything. STEER CLEAR!!Desired Settlement: I want my $500 back.

Review: I received a letter from this company stating it was my student loan servicing center and that I needed to call regarding my loan changes that were coming up. I called and the woman said she was in my student loan servicing department. She had details about my student loans and said she needed my date of birth and SSN to verify that it was me which I provided. Then she asked me my mother's maiden name and got onto my FAFSA site to obtain my PIN. She then told me about doing automatic payments to get an interest rate reduction. After I gave her my debit card information she said I'd be charged a one time fee of $599 which I knew the government wouldn't do so I asked her what exactly her role was in the FedLoans servicing department and she told me they are a different company that "works directly with the department of education on student loan servicing." I called FedLoans today and they told me they do not work with ANY company and to report it ASAP. I did not sign any paperwork with this company and I told that woman I do not agree to any of this after I caught on to her scheme. However, she has all of my identify information that can be used to steal my identity. FedLoans said these companies have been victimizing many student loan borrowers. I think this company needs to be investigated ASAP.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to be investigated and reported for these false and inaccurate advertising and predatory behaviors. I would like to be contacted with information on the investigation of them to find out if they are committing fraud and/or stealing peoples identities.

Regards,

This company offered to consolidate my federal loans for a one time payment of $600 and $28 a month after that. What they don't tell you, but is written in the contract they have you sign, is that you are able to manage everything they are doing for you yourself, at no cost. They basically want you to pay them to consolidate your loans (something I could do myself at studentloans.gov) and handle paperwork annually to keep you in whatever repayment plan (e.g. income based repayment plan), etc (also something you can do yourself). If you don't call that a scam, you can definitely call it a ripoff!

Review: I turned to the student relief group to assist me with consolidating my student loans into a low monthly payment. The representative sold me on lowering my monthly payment and getting my loan out of default. They haven't explained that the first 8 months of payment is for their fee and it would cost me around 800.00 dollars for their service. I've decided to cancel my service with them before they have already taken out the first month fee, around 133.00 dollars. I have filed for a refund and they told me it would take 14 business days to receive a refund. Now its been a month and haven't received my refund. I've called numerous of times and they keep giving me the run around. I'll end getting transfered to a department that never has anyone answer, just a voice mail which will prompt you to leave a message but I can never expect my call returned. They have now taken an additional 133.00 dollars which wasn't authorized as well, which all happened in May. I have filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and the student loan service has sent me a form to request for my refund. I though I would finally receive my refund but now it has been over 2 months and haven't received my refund. They are not responding to my calls or email.Desired Settlement: 266.00

Review: I was mislead into a service that my actual loan company could have done for free for me. I received a letter in he mail saying I was eligible for student loan forgiveness. I called it and was talked into signing up. The advisor [redacted] said it would be three payments of 233 for three months. On the third month I was charged a random amount of 29.99 so I called. Every phone number what I was given was no longer in service or lead to someone who has no idea about this company. This gave me a red flag. After I did some research it looks like other people on Revdex.com had the same problem. I am sick to my stomach that I paid the three payments of 233 totaling 699, as I do not have any money.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a full refund of the three payments of $233 adding up to a total of $699.

Review: I received a notice in the mail telling me about my student loan debt and that this company could consolidate my loans. After contacting this company I was told how far in debt I was and that my loans were in deferment, not that they were in deferment because I was still in school. After this scare tactic I decided to proceed with the loan consolidation and was charged $500, split in 2 payments, for their services. It wasn't until I was contacted by Great Lakes federal student loans that I was informed that my loans were in academic deferment and that by doing this I would forfeit my grace period on making a payment after I completed school. When she contacted me I told her I didn't want to follow through this and I was told to contact the company to cancel this consolidation. I sent an email to this company expressing my desired change of plans and asked for a refund. I never received a reply from that email and when I contacted them by phone I was told that I wasn't entitled to a refund due to any error on their part and all their calls are recorded, but that the consolidation of my loans had been canceled. I was mislead, deceived, and manipulated into going through with this process by this company. They are aware that I am disabled and am trying to get my life back together, not that it matters to them.Desired Settlement: I want them to return the amount of money they took out of my account.
