I took my children to [redacted] to see if she could help them with their asthma & allergies. When I called to set up the 1st appt for my son, [redacted] took my insurance info. I called the day of appt to confirm my coverage & was advised yes I was covered. During the 2nd appt where [redacted] reviewed the findings she 1st tried to get me to enroll in her $1200 payment plan & I said I would let insurance pay. She then advised me I had the SAME coverage, both in network & out of network. She advised me we had 65/35% copay & subject to $500 deductible. She wanted me to make payment that day & I told her we had already met his $500 ded this year & I would wait for bill after it had been submitted to my insurance agency. (At this time my husband was being treated by a different chiropracter & we were paying roughly $3 - $6 out of pocket for each treatment, so just having been advised by [redacted] of our same coverage in & out of network, there was no reason in my mind that we would want her $1200 paymnt plan, we would wait for our minimal bill.)
I feel both [redacted] & [redacted] were extremely misleading & deceitful in their practices. Being the experts in their field, they would have both been well aware that not only was our coverage NOT the same in/out of network, but that the $500 ded they had been discussing was for "their" treatment, not the family practice deductible that I advised we had already met! Unbeknowst to me, the whole time [redacted] was treating both of my children, she knew fair well that not only was I NOT in her network, but that I would be owing her a $500 deductible for EACH of my children! At one point in conversation [redacted] had even advised me that [redacted] treated another UPS employee & his copay was only a few dollars.
Upon my initial call to confirm we were covered prior to our 1st treatment & being told I had the SAME coverage both in/out of network, and advising [redacted] I already met my $500 ded, I had NO reason to believe I would owe more than $3-$6 per treatmnt
