Not taking the option to have my deposit returned after [redacted] was 5 weeks late on the delivery of my kitchen was the worst decision I have ever made. She promised that If I stuck with her on this project that I would have cabinets and countertop installed within 3 weeks, which would be significantly faster that staring fresh with a new cabinet company. I was stressed from being over a month past the first delivery date for cabinets ([redacted]), which [redacted] blamed me for because my kitchen design is complicated, despite me giving her drawings 3 months earlier and requesting that she let me know if she needs anything adjusted on the layout before framing and appliance purchases.
My childcare solution has been postponed as a result of the delay in moving and I was unsure of how I would find the time to source an entirely new company to make the kitchen in my situation. I'm sure she has been taking advantage of this situation and promised something she knew she could not deliver just to keep the contract and our deposit.
It's now 4 weeks after that conversation and I have an incomplete kitchen, missing pieces, missing hardware, wood doors where my quote and approved drawings both specified frosted glass (which apparently don't get measured or manufactured until after the cabinets are installed? I would love to know if this is actually standard cabinetry procedure). And now I am at the house, by myself, measuring the missing panels because Studio 1 requires me to produce a list of what sizes of panels and gables are missing.
I even had to get my contractor to install the cabinets on no notice because when it came time for the Studio 1 installers to show up, they got in a car accident on the way there and I had to source my own installers if I wanted to hit the deadline she had proposed. After all that, her countertop installer shows up after the cabinets are partially installed and says 5 more weeks minimum until I have the countertop I ordered in May because the stone that I paid a deposit for, in [redacted], was never ordered.
I can't move into my house, I can't start my [redacted] program, I'm working [redacted] while watching my [redacted] during the day, and I can't cancel her countertop without forfeiting **% of my deposit. This has been stressful and disappointing, and at the end of it, a number of the specific custom pieces I wanted were deleted by [redacted] because she didn't like them, I do have a kitchen built out of quality materials...and it's better than [redacted], I guess they have that going for them, and I hope anyone else thinking of buying cabinets from them can at least learn from my experience and not make the same mistake that I may never live down. My contractors, husband and family are all furious with me for giving [redacted] at studio 1 kitchen design the chance to complete this kitchen.
